Cambridge High School’s Theatre Company, THE BRIDGE ENSEMBLE, will be producing a musical about healing and hope, The Spitfire GrillI, as their GHSA One Act Play entry this year. The story follows a young woman, Percy, who seeks refuge in the quaint town of Gilead, Wisconsin, after being released from prison. While she turns to the town in the hopes of finding redemption, her arrival forces Hannah, the owner of The Spitfire and matriarch of the community, to confront her own past and forces not only her but Gilead to seek and find redemption itself.
Last year, THE BRIDGE ENSEMBLE took home the State Championship in the GHSA 5A Conference and believes they have another contender on their hands for 4A. Our school performances are on November 1st, 2nd, and 4th at 7:00 pm and November 2nd at 2:00 pm. For more information about this production and tickets, visit www.cambridgetheatre.org or reach out to Mr. Kelley: kelleyc1@fultonschools.org

November is Apply to College Month
November is Apply to College Month in Georgia, an initiative to help students apply to college with the assistance of college application fee waivers. The University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia are waiving fees from November 1 through November 30, 2024. Students should log into their Futures account, look at their Georgia Match colleges, "claim their spots," and apply and take advantage of the waived fees.
For seniors who need help with a college application or transcript request, counselors are available every Tuesday in the cafeteria outside the Coffee Shop during both lunch periods. Seniors can also make an appointment to see your counselor.
GEORGIA MATCH
GEORGIA MATCH is a simple way for seniors to know where they are eligible for admission (to be admitted to college) based on their recent high school-calculated HOPE grade point average (GPA). The State of Georgia wants to make it easy for seniors to see where they could attend college in Georgia based on their current academic records and to apply to institutions, they are most interested in attending!
Seniors will still need to submit a college application to the college they "claim a spot " at. GEORGIA MATCH colleges can be found on the GAfutures Student Dashboard. Log in to view the colleges and apply by following a few steps. In November, the application fee is also waived for these colleges.
For more information visit GEORGIA MATCH at GAfutures.org.
GSFAPP for HOPE and Zell Miller
Georgia Student Finance Commission, which handles HOPE and Zell Miller Scholarships, advises all seniors to complete the GSAFAPP application found on GAfutures.org. Even if students complete FAFSA (which opens in December 2024), they ask that students also complete the GSFAPP. It takes only a few minutes and can also be done via a mobile device. The application is good for 10 years and needs to be done only once in a student’s college career. Create a GAfutures.org account and submit the application as soon as possible. The deadline to submit is your graduation day from Cambridge High School.
Submitting Test Scores for Zell Miller
To meet the eligibility requirement for the Zell Miller Scholarship, seniors must submit their SAT or ACT score to GAfutures.org. Eligibility includes: 3.7 HOPE calculated GPA at graduation, 1200 SAT or 25 ACT from one test date, and four rigor courses. A senior's HOPE GPA can be checked in their GAfutures.org account. For more information on submitting test scores, visit GAfutures.org HOPE & Zell Miller Scholarships.
