This means that we have a one-way entrance into the high school drive and one one-way exit out of the high school. Slow down and watch for students as you are coming to school or leaving.

Words from a Cop
Welcome back Swan Valley!
I hope you all had a great summer. I am excited to be back and resume my position as your School Resource Officer. Just like last year, I will be present in all 4 schools, attending lunch periods, monitoring hallways and parking lots, and will be available for students and staff needs. Although it is a new year, my goal of a safe and secure learning environment still stands. I hope to have as good of a year as the last one.
With construction nearly 100% complete of our new building at the high school, our exit way is reopened. The exit is located between the new building and the Administration building. There are two new signs to help direct traffic to the exit. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIGNS. One of my goals this year is to reduce car accidents in the parking lot. Your attentiveness will help tremendously.
We also have a lot of new students at Swan Valley this year. My message to our experienced students is this: Help others in need, make a good impression, and above all be nice. If you see a new student that does not know where the next class is, help them. Have acceptable table manners in the lunchroom, be impressionable. Do not ever put others down, be nice. You do not have to be a best friend, but be a decent human being.
As always, I am here to help others whenever I can. Please do not be afraid to reach out to me with any concerns, or if you just want to chat.
Stay safe, stay vigilant
Notes from the Nurse.....
Welcome back to school!
Please be aware that no medication, including over-counter-medication, will be administered to any student without a completed Medication Authorization Form containing a healthcare provider’s signature as well as a parent/guardian signature. This is to comply with Michigan Law/Michigan School Health Code (380.1178-380.1179a) and the Swan Valley School District policy (8670). This policy is to ensure the safety of the student and for protection of liability for school staff. We appreciate your cooperation. You may obtain the Medication Authorization Form from the district’s website (swanvalleyschools.com) or pick-up a copy from the school office. Please contact me at 989-921-2621 or via email @ knewman@swanvalley.k12.mi.us should you have questions or concerns. I would be happy to help obtain your healthcare provider’s signature for your convenience. Thank you!
