Greetings Hembree Families,

Welcome back to a new school year! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer break and are ready to jump back in to learning and growing together. It was great to see many of you at Open House today.

I am thrilled to see our school community come back together after the break, and I am looking forward to getting to know our new students and welcoming back our returning students. I am confident we will have a successful and productive year ahead of us.

We have a great deal of information to share with you to prepare for a new school year. Please see all the sections below to ensure you receive all the updates. I am so excited for Monday to come so we can see the smiles of our students.

We encourage all parents to send their children to school the usual way beginning from day one. We will however allow parents to walk their children to class the first week. Transportation may run slowly the first week especially in the afternoon. Please do not be concerned, we won't release buses until we are sure all students are safely on the bus.

SAVE THE DATE! The PTA is hosting a playdate Saturday, Aug. 3 at Hembree Park playground. From 10 a.m. to noon, stop by and let the kids run around while you socialize! It's a great way to reconnect and meet new HSES families as we all get ready for the 2024-25 school year. We'll be at the playground at the rear of the park, and the pavilion is reserved. (NOTE: this is not at Hembree Springs! It is at the park across the street.)

The first day of school comes with a lot of emotions. The PTA is here to save the day! Come join us for an informal Boo Hoo/Woo Hoo breakfast Aug. 5 after drop-off if you have a pre-K or kindergarten student! Meet us in Room N101 near the kindergarten hallway and we'll have food, drinks and conversation. See flyer below.

Plan for a fun evening at Hembree Springs Aug. 16! It’s our PTA Back to School Picnic, and we’ll have no shortage of things for the kids to do! It’s a picnic and a Spirit Night all wrapped into one. Visit Village Burger in Alpharetta and bring your meals to the field to enjoy, or bring your own food from home. We know we already had you at bounce house and free snow cones though, didn’t we?!
