Happy Summer!
A Message from Principal Davis
Engaging in academic activities during the summer break can prevent the summer slide, where students lose knowledge and skills over the extended vacation period. Summer assignments can help students retain what they learned during the school year, ensuring a smoother transition into the next grade.
Math:
For the 2024-2025 school year, all MATH summer assignments are optional except those for AP high school courses. These optional assignments can be completed by students during the summer who wish to review various math skills. The concepts included in the assignments focus on essential prerequisite skills required for the upcoming math course. For any questions regarding the optional math summer assignments, you can contact the Secondary Math Supervisor Mrs. Laura Kurmin at lkurmin@wallpublicschools.org.
ELA:
For the 2024-2025 school year, ELA summer assignments for all levels at the high school are mandatory assignments. We ask that parents and guardians be actively involved in the summer reading selection process. Please review the grade-level recommended readings with your child to best support their choices, interests, and reading ability. If you have any questions regarding the summer reading selections, please contact the Secondary ELA Supervisor, Mrs. Kelly Weiner, at kweiner@wallpublicschools.org.
Please visit this link, which directs you to the district website, for more information regarding the nature of all assignments.
Have a great summer,
Mr. Kevin Davis

2024-2025 Student Courses Available
Student requests and a list of courses that have been scheduled for your child for the 2024-2025 school year are available via the Genesis Parent Portal on the district website. Click on the Scheduling button to see the list of courses scheduled.
These scheduled courses do not include the classroom, teacher name or period. Final schedules for students will be available in mid-August.
The counselors have been working on resolving scheduling conflicts. Alternate course selections were used when primary course choices were not able to be scheduled. Other conflicts include failures that need to be rescheduled and changes in the teacher recommendations (for CP, H, and AP level assignments, which are based on course prerequisite requirements located in the Program of Studies) that need to be processed. Every effort is being made to balance classes as well.
The counselors have reached out and will continue to reach out to students with scheduling conflicts. They will be meeting with students over the next several weeks to resolve scheduling issues. Should you receive a message from your school counselor, please respond in a timely manner.

π Student Health & Wellness
Thank you for a wonderful year!
The Wall Township Wellness Department and I would like to thank our parents, guardians, and community caretakers whose support contributed to the success of The 7 Mindsets program. Year one of implementation surpassed expectations as our community joined together to celebrate each mindset in ways that honor the spirit of the program. To best capture the essence of the mindset experience, we invite you to view the presentation linked HERE and posted on our District website.
Next year, we will embrace our second year of implementation with continued instruction on each mindset, school-wide activities for children to apply positive habits of mind, Wellness in the Works parent newsletters, and monthly showcases to the community at Board of Education meetings. We will dive deeper into the program with some new instructional initiatives including Wellness Webinars for students grades 3-8 to facilitate grade-level discussions in real-time, 9th-grade transitional curriculum aligned to the mindsets, student leadership opportunities a.k.a. Mindset Mentors, and additional curricular connections embedded in classroom instruction.
Before we break for the summer, I would like to offer access to the 7 Mindsets audiobook HERE if you missed the opportunity to read it last year.
With warm regards,
Tiffany A. Steiner
