LGBTQ+ History Month is observed every year in the United States during October to raise awareness of the history of LGBTQ+ people. LGBTQ+ History Month provides role models, builds community, and represents a civil rights statement about the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community.
The District believes that all students should be able to embrace who they are and attend school in a safe and inclusive environment, free from discrimination. Click here to read more.
We are proud to provide all students with a Chromebook through the District’s 1:1 Program. While Chromebooks are provided at no cost to families, proper use and care of the Chromebook is the responsibility of the student and their parent/guardian. To support this program, CVUSD is offering Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) program for families to eliminate the concern and costs of repairing or replacing damaged, or stolen Chromebooks.
📍 Important Note: Coverage must be in place prior to a claim being submitted = the time is now to secure Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection for your student's Chromebook!

Congratulations to the Newbury Park High School Football team (CIF-SS) on being recognized as one of two California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) September Teams of the Month presented by The California Army National Guard for their achievements on the field, in the classroom, and in the community!
Consistent with the CIF’s commitment to developing student-athletes of character, selection for this recognition is based on the National Guard’s core values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage.
As part of this recognition, the NPHS football team will receive a Team of the Month plaque and a $150 American Express gift card. Way to go, Panthers! 🏈
Congratulations to our Thousand Oaks High School for earning five 2023-2024 CIF-SS Champions for Character Awards at the 19th Annual Dr. Jim Staunton Champions for Character Awards Dinner on September 23rd. This was the most awards received by any school in the section:

🏆 Athletic Trainer: Ahmad Paden
🏆 Commissioner's Award - California Sports Hall of Fame: Jackson Taylor, 11th Grade Student

Awardees are selected for their commitment to the program’s six (6) Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, fairness, caring, and citizenship, and for providing their school's student-athletes with the tools they need to achieve success on the playing field and in life.
Each awardee received a special recognition, with student awardees receiving cash/scholarship prizes and a year's supply of free Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. Thousand Oaks High School was also awarded a $1,000 check for being one of the two schools to receive overall recognition at the annual Awards.

Jillian Kroytoro is an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher at Be Me Preschool, where she utilizes her 15 years of expertise in the classroom to support some of the District’s youngest students. She joined the CVUSD team during the 2022-2023 school year, and has made an invaluable impact, as a leader, and positive role model ever since.
Ms. Kroytoro embodies the qualities of an exceptional educator: dedication, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to student success. She implements picture schedules, visuals for following class routines, token systems, transition objects, and sensory tools to support students as they acquire important school readiness skills. She provides a language-rich environment, and instruction that allows students to build their language skills. She goes above and beyond to meet the needs of each of her students, adapting her classroom setting, and teaching strategies to provide them with individualized support to help them succeed.
Her impact extends far beyond the classroom, shaping the overall growth and development of our youngest students, and we are proud to honor her as the Conejo Valley Unified School District’s September 2024 Teacher of the Month! Click here to learn more.
