School Site Council Family Members Needed
We are in need of 3 family members to fill out our School Site Council Voting Members
School Site Council (SSC) is the school governance body, which reviews school-wide data, develops a school plan, and allocates supplemental school funds in ways that further the goals articulated in the plan. The governance body consists of the site principal, school staff members, and parents/community members.
- Meetings will be held about 6 times during the school year via either in person or Zoom. (Last year, meetings were held from 6:00-7:00pm.)
- Specific dates for this year will be set when the committee convenes.
- The annual School Site Council training will be on Thursday, September 26th from 6-7 pm via Zoom
- The positions are two year terms

Linwood E. Howe Special Education PTA Subcommittee is a forum for parents, teachers, and school administrators to meet regularly throughout the year to support our students with disabilities, IEPs and 504 plans. Lin Howe is an inclusive school where students with disabilities can be part of the general education classroom while having the support they need to work towards their individual goals.
Meetings and volunteer opportunities are announced in the Sea Dragons newsletter, by email and on the Lin Howe PTA Special Needs committee facebook page.

Fun news! 19-year-old Ezra Frech wins two gold medals for Team USA at the Paralympics!
For the past three years, Lin Howe has partnered with Angel City Sports, a local organization that provides adaptive sports programming to kids, teens, and adults with disabilities, to do programming about inclusion and living with disabilities. Ezra Frech, son of the Angel City founders, won two gold medals in Paris. Watch his interview here.

Calling all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders... Join the Lin Howe Choir!
The Lin Howe Choir is looking for singers! Do you like to sing? Are you in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade? Then Choir is for you! The Lin Howe Choir meets on Thursday mornings before school, from 8:00-8:35 am in the cafeteria. Choir rehearsals start on Thursday, September 12th. We will have many opportunities to perform throughout the school year. Choir is free, and no experience is necessary. If you would like to sign up for choir, please register here. Walk & Roll Festival
Walk & Roll Festival
Our family-friendly bike safety event returns Sept 15. Perfect for getting ready to bike to school. Catch up on bike safety skills, register your bike and even learn to ride. Student volunteers are most welcome and can also earn community service hours. Plus free helmets and goody bags for all (while supplies last)
Presented in partnership with the Culver City Rotary Foundation, the Festival will have something for everyone with multiple skills courses, bike repair, food and music.
Culver CityBus will be on site teaching participants how to load their bikes on the bus and all about the GoPass program – free transit for CCUSD students.
Culver City Police Department will be on site providing free bike registrations to help prevent bike theft.
We will have mechanics on site to service bikes throughout the day and instructors dedicated to offering learn to ride lessons.
