Dear Eaton Families,

We hope our Eaton families enjoyed a wonderful Spring intersession. We are excited to see our Olympians on Monday morning. As a friendly reminder, students may enter the school building at 7:10. The tardy bell rings at 7:40. Staff members are outside assisting students until 7:35. If you arrive after 7:35 we kindly ask that you park and come inside to check in your student. Please do not let students out and allow them to run across the parking lot, as this is unsafe for students. We also ask that you remain in our drop-off line and do not park and walk students across the walkway unless you are coming in to volunteer.

Field Day is Friday, April 12th. Coach Tew is recruiting Level 2 volunteers to help run stations. Volunteers are needed from 8:30-10:45 and 11:15-1:30. You may use this link to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0948ABAC2FA4FF2-47955232-eaton

Spring Picture Day is April 18th. Please look out for information coming home with your child.

PTA Tall and Small Ball is April 19th. PTA will host a Tall and Small Disco Ball at Eaton on April 19th, from 6:00-8:00.

A Second Primary Election will be held on May 14th. This is not a Teacher Workday for students. Eaton is a voting site. Voters will only be allowed in the multi-purpose room. Students and staff are not permitted in the voting room. Voters will not have access to the school. Student safety is a top priority. Additional staff members will be used to support morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.

Volunteer Information

All volunteers, both Levels 1 and 2, must complete volunteer training each school year.

All field trip chaperones must become a Level II volunteer, which requires a background check through NHCS. Background checks are good for three years. You can log into your account to check your expiration date, or contact Mrs. Allen. The NHCS background check system is linked below. Level 2 volunteers must also complete the orientation and assessment each year.

All volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Level I

Parents, family, or community members volunteering to assist students in a supervised setting are not required to undergo a background check if they are continually supervised by school personnel during the school day.

Level II

Parents, family, or community members volunteering to assist students in an unsupervised setting away from school personnel are deemed Level II Volunteers. We also ask that all chaperones become Level II volunteers, as well as those interested in assisting in our media center and cafeteria at Eaton Elementary. An applicant designated a Level II Volunteer must complete the online application and the criminal background check. Applications must be completed at least two weeks prior to the time you wish to begin volunteering. The cost of background checks are $22.50.

Steps to Take to Become A Volunteer:

Review Volunteer Orientation Presentation
Read the Volunteer Handbook
Complete the Volunteer Assessment with 80% or Higher (You may retake the assessment if needed)
Level 2 Volunteers must also complete a Background Check application and pay $22.50
Email Mrs. Allen to let her know you completed the steps to become a volunteer
