Superintendent's Update
January 17, 2025
Dear CCPS Families,
As we approach the end of the second marking period on January 30, I thank you for your continued support and involvement in our schools. This has been a rewarding academic year so far, and we look forward to finishing the second marking period strong.
At the same time, we are beginning our preparations for the 2025-2026 school year. As part of this process, we are working on the district’s budget for the upcoming year. We understand how important it is to ensure our resources are allocated wisely to benefit all students, and we invite you to be a part of this conversation.
We will be hosting two Budget Work Sessions for community input:
Wednesday, January 22 at 5:00 pm
Tuesday, February 4 at 10:00 am
Both sessions will take place in the Carver Center's board room. They will allow us to review our budget planning and provide input for the coming year.
Additionally, our Budget Hearing will be held on Wednesday, February 26, at 5:00 pm and live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person. We encourage you to tune in and participate in the discussion as we finalize our budget decisions for the 2025-2026 school year.
We value your feedback and look forward to your involvement in shaping our district's future. Together, we can ensure that we continue to provide the best possible education for all our students.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.

BrightPath: Our Students Pathway to Mental Health Resources and Services
Cecil County is proud to introduce BrightPath Cecil, a digital platform dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of Cecil County students. With a comprehensive library of self-guided resources and access to services available throughout the county, BrightPath empowers students and their parents/guardians to easily find the most appropriate support for their mental health, whenever needed.
- Grades 6 and Up: Students can independently explore BrightPath's tools and resources, tailored to their age range and needs.
- Grade 5 and Below: Younger students can only engage with the platform alongside a parent/guardian. A parent/guardian can also access it on their own to help support their child.
This initiative strengthens our commitment to supporting the mental health of every student in our community. Learn more and start exploring today at BrightPathCecil.com.
