SELF DISCIPLINE
Mrs. Winter has been working on Character Talks with our students. Our focus areas this semester have been RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY and CONFLICT RESOLUTION.
December's character focus is SELF DISCIPLINE. Teachers and staff are on the lookout for students showing the ability to work through struggles in a peaceful way.
Breakfast with the Blue
We are lucky to have wonderful local law enforcement and look for opportunites to have them on campus whenever we can. We have invited our Blue to come join us for breakfast on Wednesday, December 6. Students will have the opportunity to sit and visit with them over breakfast.
UIL
4th and 5th grade teams represented us well at UIL! Elementary took 1st place and we had lots of teams and individual placings!!
6th graders will participate with MS UIL on December 11th at Wall. They have been working hard and are ready to compete! Mrs. Fuller will be communicating information for the contest.
4th Grade Music Program
The 4th Grade Music Program will take place in the cafeteria on December 15th at 1:30pm. We invite you to come hear some festive Christmas music!
You are welcome to sign your student out after the program. Please remember to bring your DL and be prepared to sign them out of the front office. Hope to see you there!
**Please note that December 13th and December 15th are switched. The 15th will be a sack lunch to help accomodate our 4th Grade Music Program.
Money can be added to student accounts at MySchoolBucks
Lunch Accounts and Balances
Letters will be going home with progress reports and reports cards for students with an negative lunch balance.
Homework and Missing/Make up Work
Teachers are seeing a lot of missing work lately and late work piling up. Students generally have time to work on assignments during their school day. Teachers have made themselves available for tutorials and lunch study halls throughout the week as well. Please continue to check grades and encourage your students to complete (and turn in!) their assignments.
Attendance Matters
Attendance letters will be sent this week. Students are expected to attend school 90% of the year. This means students should miss less than 18 days in the school year. Students with excessive attendance patterns this semester (8 or more absences in a class) will recieve a letter. This is just a note to let you know how many absences your student has. *Please note that this includes all absences, excused and unexcused.
If you receive a letter and have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call the front office to speak with Mrs. Corbin.
Drop off/Dismissal and Bus Rider Reminders
- Please stay off of your phone in the drop off/pick up lines! Distractions lead to accidents.
- Please do not go around cars during morning drop off.
- If arriving after 8:20AM - students need to be brought into the front office and signed in.
- Please pull forward when dropping students off in the morning to eliminate traffic backing up.
- If picking up student early, please do so before 3:30 to avoid bus lanes.
*Parents, please remember to bring your Drivers License with you when picking up students - thank you!
The JNCISD Transportation Department has communicated new Bus Behavior Expectations and Consequences. They can be found on our district website or by clicking here.
If your student is a bus rider, please continue to remind them of their behavior while on the bus. We want to keep everyone safe. Behavior concerns on the bus are reported back to student's home campus and consequences will be given. First offenses result in a 5 day bus suspension.
