I'm excited to kick off another school year together. As we dive into new adventures, I look forward to seeing our students learn, grow, and shine. This newsletter will keep you updated on all the happenings, achievements, and exciting opportunities ahead. Let's make this year one to remember!

As you may recall, last fall we were told that Oakland-Craig Elementary would qualify for free meals for all students. Upon further review, this is somewhat accurate but not as straight forward as it seems. While we would have the option to provide free meals through the Community Eligibility Program, a large percentage of the meal costs would not be reimbursed, which would then fall back on us as a district to cover the remaining costs. This would then fall on the taxpayers, rather than those individuals that are eating the meals. As a result, we are going to continue to charge for meals for 2024-2025 school year. Updated meal prices are included below.

Breakfast: $1.75 for all students

Lunch: $2.95 for Elementary Students; $3.15 for Secondary Students

Milk: $0.55

Oakland-Craig Public Schools is not responsible for any accidental injuries that occur to students while under the school’s supervision or participating in interscholastic sports.

Our School District has partnered with Student Assurance Services to give families the opportunity to purchase accident insurance for their student(s). When enrolled, this coverage provides financial assistance with your out-of-pocket medical expenses should your student sustain an accidental bodily injury.

Reasons to consider coverage for your student:

1. Your primary health insurance has a high deductible – copay – coinsurance.

2. No other insurance on your student.

3. Your student participates in a sport where unexpected injuries commonly occur.
