2025 Spring Volunteer Opportunities
As we enter the new year, we have many volunteer opportunities for parents. Check out our online volunteer sign-up to see what areas you would be interested in helping out!
Gold Star Teacher Nominations ⭐
Nominations for the McElroy Trust Gold Star Teacher Awards will be accepted online now. In an effort to be more environmentally conscious, we have gone away from the paper brochure and will now offer an online format for nominations. Winners are selected by a volunteer committee from hundreds of nominations submitted by students, parents, and other teachers. They're honored in a special awards ceremony where they each receive $1,000 in cash and $1,000 for their classroom. The deadline for nominations is February 20th. This is a great way for parents and students to show appreciation to the special teacher(s) in their life.
Band Solo & Ensemble Contest
On Monday, February 24th our band students will be competing at Don Bosco from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Parents with questions about this contest are welcome to contact our band director, Mrs. Lawrence. Good luck to our students!
2025/26 Academic Calendar Now Available

We're Hiring!
Are you, or someone you know, on the hunt for something to do while the kiddos are off learning? We're on the lookout for a kindergarten associate to join the fun from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Not sure if you can commit to the full school day? We are also open to considering an associate to work from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Get ready to team up with amazing little learners and a super supportive squad!
MathCounts Volunteer Needed
We are searching for a parent volunteer to lead MathCounts for students in grades 6-8 next year! Students meet weekly to practice doing math problems and applying mathematical strategies. The MathCounts competition occurs in February each year. Wendy Funk has led this group for many years and would be happy to share what she has done and/or have that person work with her for the last few sessions this year. Contact Mrs. Grimm if you are interested in this opportunity!

⛄ Sign Up for School Related Weather Alerts
As we have entered our winter season, it is important for all families to sign up with Remind to be informed of unexpected changes in the school schedule due to weather, or other important announcements. In addition to using Remind, we also send out an email from the school, and post the information on our social media pages and will also be listed on KWWL.
Our weather policy is posted as “Weather Announcements” under the Quick Links on the home page of the school website.
Through the Remind alert notification system, parents can sign up for text alerts, push notifications (when you download the Remind app), or emails.
If you are new to St Patrick School, or have not signed up in the past, text @cd4he to 81010. If you're having trouble with 81010, text @cd4he to (619) 450-1267. For emails only, go to rmd.at/cd4he on a computer to sign up for email notifications. You do not need to sign up again if you've signed up before.
