A Slice of PIE
Where Life and Learning Meet
May 2024
Welcome to Kindergarten! π
On May 22nd we hosted our first Welcome to Kindergarten virtual event. Raun Rainbow, our District Principal of Early Learning, Childcare and School Nutrition, put together some digital and physical resources for our K students. Stephanie, Al, Ian, Saffron and Hayley met new parents and answered questions about what to expect in the upcoming school year. It was great to meet some of our new families!

πΈ Mountain Biking
Comox Valley PIE students joined the Brooks MTB team for a mini enduro at Mt. Mahoney on May 9th.
πΈ Talent Time
qathet students put on a fabulous talent show on May 22nd. It was live at our Oceanview campus and Ian arranged for those of us in other areas to be able to join virtually. We have had a few glitches with hybrid sessions, but every time we try we are able to finetune it a bit more. The sound was great this year and our next goal is to make sure the camera picks up the performers rather than the audience. Thank you for working to include us virtually, Ian! Also, thank you to all the brave performers for putting on a show for us. Bravo! β
πΈ Rock Climbing
qathet students also went rock climbing this term! Well done!
πΈ Camp Imadene
We had another lovely year-end get-together at Camp Imadene. It was so great to be able to spend time together playing, relaxing, celebrating our brave performers in the Showcase, and admiring the skills of our spelling bee contestants. The Camp Imadene staff went all-out to make the Tower Game another memorable experience for all ages. Thanks to everyone who organized this fun event for our students and thanks to parents and students for making the journey to join us.
