A Message From the Principal
Viking Family,
Happy Veterans Day to our military families! Thank you for your service!
We DO have school on Monday. Two weeks until Thanksgiving Break and lots to do. Remember that when we get back from Thanksgiving, we go right into STAAR testing then final exams. The final exam schedule will be published next week. Vistas students are eligible for exam exemptions in their 90 minute courses. Please see details below.

Mark your calendars...December STAAR (EOC) Testing
Final Exam Exemptions
Due to our term scheduling, students who are in 90 minute block classes can exempt their December final exams. We follow the Spring Exam Exemption guidelines. Students will be given an exam exemption card if they are eligible.
*45 minute semester courses, including college courses, are not eligible for exam exemptions. Students who are not exempt MUST show up on the scheduled day for their final exam or will receive a zero on the exam which is 10% of their overall grade.
School Reminders
Vistas Student & Family Contract Reminders
- Be on time! School starts at 7:25am. Dismissal is 3pm.
- If students come late...they MUST check in thru the front office.
- Medical excuse - must turn in the medical note within 5 days.
- If students need to leave early...they MUST check out thru the front office. They MUST have parent/guardian permission, even if they drive to school.
- Students must wear their ID badge, on a lanyard, around their neck visible at all times.
- Cell phone policy strictly enforced. Cell phones must be put in the cell phone holder when they enter any classroom.
- Dress code...no crop tops, spaghetti straps, sagging pants or pj's.
- Blankets are to be left at home. If using a blanket in replace of a jacket, students must check it in at the front desk and can pick it up at the end of the day.
- Vistas is a closed campus.
- Only parent/guardian on Skyward can bring food for their student.
- Students may NOT leave campus for lunch.
- No food delivery such as Uber Eats, etc.
- Parking Pass - Students who drive to campus
- Must have a current Vistas hang tag visible from the front windshield
- Must park in their assigned parking spot
- If you need a parking pass, see Ms. Beaird during your lunch time. Parking passes are $15.
- Drive safe! Do not lose your parking priviliges by driving unsafe in and around our campus.
- Unverified vehicles are subject to be towed at owners expense.
