Time to be Ready for Anything!
Oh the Weather is so Delightful...
Please remember to send your child with clothes for all weather. The warmer weather is creating amazing snow to build with and puddles. Please send your child with a change of clothes, just in case.
March Outdoor Lion's Learning
March Outdoor Lion’s Learning: A Hoot of a Success!
Our March Outdoor Lion’s Learning was an incredible success! Students became experts on owls and will have the opportunity to share their knowledge with friends and family during our Owl Prowl on April 2nd. The Harris Center will guide us on an evening exploration through our own woods as we search for local owls.
In addition to their owl studies, students enjoyed roasting marshmallows around the campfire, searching for signs of spring wildlife, and working on a soon-to-be field guide about the local animals, flora, and fauna surrounding our school.
We’re excited to continue exploring and learning together in the great outdoors!
News From Ms. Curley
Book Madness Continues
This week we have enjoyed watching our plants grow. Students have been excited to see how much they have grown each day. We have also finished reading all our books in Book Madness. Students will continue to vote on which book they like best until we have a winner!

Can It Bare the Weight
We had another great week in 1st and 2nd grade. This week, we began new Literacy centers and the students have done a nice job adjusting. In Math, we learned how to check our work and continued learning all about place value. In Science, we finished our material unit with an activity where we had to make a strong tower to hold a dictionary using only index cards and bobby pins.

Fractions and Research
This week we worked on our field guide books for OLL. In math, students are learning all about fractions! In Literacy we are starting our animal research unit!

Exploring and Reading Music
Kindergarten learned about the Percussion family. They loved playing the Djembe drums and hearing the history behind it!
1st and 2nd grade studied musical contour - ask your child to sing the Elevator song.
3rd and 4th graders continued their study of recorder, including reading music on the staff and drawing treble clefs. "Eye of the Tiger" is still a class favorite!
