Dream big
The Ozark Culture Club went to the Springfield Dream Center last week to help serve the Easter community dinner. A few hundred people from the surrounding community came for a free hot meal and access to a clothing closet. Ozark students stayed busy waiting tables, working in the kitchen, washing dishes and interacting with children in the kids room. When the event concluded, students helped clean the gym full of tables, chairs and trash.
What does a police officer do?
Ozark Police Officer McLaughlin visited Mrs. Matthews’ third-grade class at West Elementary last week to talk about her responsibilities as a police officer.
Alumni Family Night
Finley River School held its Alumni Family Night April 25, celebrating not only current and past students, but Principal Dr. Gooden, who is retiring this year.
This week was Public School Volunteer Week. We want to thank all of our parents and community members who take time out of their day to volunteer in our schools and invest in our students. We appreciate you!
April 24 was National Administrative Professionals' Day and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our secretaries throughout the District. You wear many hats and help make learning possible. And, according to some kids, you make the rules!
Thanks for all you do!

Sewing for a cause
We love seeing our staff support students in so many unique ways! A group of teachers, counselors and even our superintendent — who is making a shirt for his wife — have been learning to sew in a fundraiser to help raise money to send FCCLA students to Nationals. Participants have measured their body, drawn out a pattern according to their size, cut out their fabric and learned how to use the serger. Taught by Lexy McNew, only two classes are left before these shirts will be ready to model.
Fun in the sun
Fifth graders at East Elementary had a great time during skills day April 23!
