Falcon's Nest
Alcova Elementary School
May 3, 2024
Dear Alcova Community,
As we approach the end of another academic year, I reflect on the journey we've shared. It has been a year filled with triumphs and countless moments of growth. As a school community, we adapted to new ways of learning and celebrated achievements, both big and small.
Our students are the heart and soul of our school. Their resilience and determination have been genuinely inspiring. They have shown up each day ready to learn, explore, and make the most of every opportunity. Their curiosity, creativity, and passion for knowledge continue to drive us forward, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments this year.
The support and partnership of our parents have been invaluable. Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your children and for your commitment to their success. Your involvement in our school community enriches the experiences of every student and strengthens the bonds that unite us.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. This is the time of year for students and parents to shower the staff in the school with appreciation. The staff at Alcova work well beyond the 40-hour work week to create engaging, challenging, and meaningful learning experiences for our students. There are multiple ways you can show your appreciation.
● The PTA will be selling carnations each morning for $1.
● Your student can write a letter or note to place in the Alcova student mailbox outside the cafeteria each morning upon arrival.
● Shower your favorite teachers with extraordinary kindness each day. See suggestions below
Lost and Found- Please remind your students to check out the lost and found. All items left at the end of the school year will be donated to local charities.
District Assessments- Students in 1st-5th grades will take the end-of-year district assessments next week. Students in 3rd-5th will not take a district assessment if they have completed a GA Milestone assessment for that content area. All assessments will begin at 8:30 each day. Please make sure your student is present and on time for the assessment so they can test in their typical testing environment.
