NORTHSIDE HIGH SCHOOL
PARENT/FAMILY NEWSLETTER
September 2024
Hey Eagle Family. It's time to do what we do best...support each other!!!
We are coordinating a fundraiser for Tyler Smith and his son, Peyton, to help lend some support to them during their ongoing treatments for Peyton.
Peyton is the son of Tyler Smith, Northside Social Studies teacher and Flag Football Coach. It was recently discovered that Peyton had a rare tumor.
In an effort to show solidarity, we have designed a T-shirt featuring Peyton's (and Tyler's) favorite thing in the world, tractors, the yellow ribbon that signifies support for finding a cure to pediatric cancer, and the catchphrase
"Pullin' for Peyton".
We would like to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to support as well.
Here are 3 ways that teachers, students, and community members can show support
- Buy a t-shirt- Shirts are $20 and all proceeds will go to the family. A flyer with additional information is attached. If you are feeling generous and able, you can write your check for more than $20 when ordering and again all money collected will go to the family. Orders are due by next Friday, September 13. We would like everyone that orders a shirt to wear it to school on September 27 to show our support.
- Wear a hat- September 27 we will have a hat day at school where everyone will pay $1 to wear a hat. Again, if you are feeling generous and want to pay $5, $10, $20, etc. to wear a hat, all money will go to the family.
- Drop by- On September 28, we will have a special event for Peyton at the NHS/NMS farm. FFA will support the event and Peyton will have the opportunity to experience different tractors and a petting zoo. We would like to invite friends, family, and the community to drop in from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM to show their support. Any donations, gifts, or words of encouragement can be given directly to the family during this time.
