Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families—
What a week! It all started off the day after my last communication… Last Saturday our awesome Ridgeline Boosters hosted our first Spring Formal dance and celebration. It was a huge success, such a beautiful event for our students! Everyone came dressed for success and ready for a great time—and it was! I’m so proud of our students showing up and making this event so fun and inclusive! Every Ridgeline Falcon who came brought energy and smiles that carried through the three hour dance and social. Being a part of their enthusiasm, you just can’t help but get caught up in the energy! Over 600 attendees and everyone embraced the significance of this moment! Each time we’ve been able to let high school feel like high school for our student’s it reminds me how great of a job I have! Thank you to our Boosters and the Leadership students for making this moment possible!
Why stop there, between our rigorous studies and push towards the end of the semester we squeezed in a needed “brain break” with our first annual Field Day! This was a massive collaborative effort with all staff and students pulling together, in the Ridgeline Way, to create a fun and festive event for all! Needless to say, we picked the perfect day for weather and we had a blast! Students played games and earned raffle tickets for a chance to win dozens of gift cards, VIP parking spots, a free yearbook, or a Jimmy John lunch with me, the Principal!
We finished off the music season with fantastic performances from the Ridgeline Orchestra, Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion ensemble. Music was a nice way to cap off a year that started in a fairly quiet and somber mood. It was the music back in the fall that gave us our first glimpse into what we were missing those long 18 months we were away from school.
PARENTS! We need your help getting our technology turned in and inventoried for next year. Students will be required to turn in their CHROMEBOOKS and CHARGERS by June 16 after their last finals day. PLEASE help us start to get those items back to school. We have issued tens of thousands of dollars of tech out to students because it is vital for their learning in this new era. But, if we don’t get all or most of it back, it becomes very costly to our budget to replace. Scour your house and child’s bedroom for chromebooks and chargers. Some students have more than one and every one we get back will help going into next year.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: We are planning a special Final Day of Our First Year Parade (not the official name, but best I could come up with in the spur of the moment), on June 17, the last 45 minutes of the day. You can expect ALL the students to be exiting the building and following a procession toward the stadium led by law enforcement and our school spirit squads! Access to our parking lot will be blocked off until 9:05 prior to our release at 9:35. Yes, we’re out at 9:35 on June 17! Don’t think this day and event isn’t important because it is! It takes us back to our first day in the stadium and will give our students and staff an important symbolic end to this HISTORIC YEAR!
They won’t want to miss it!
Last week of the year is upon us, let’s make it great and Ridgeline this thing! --Mr. Hardt

End of the Year- Band Concerts
The Ridgeline HS Band and Orchestra had their culminating concerts this week and it was an absolute magical evening both nights. Not only with outstanding performances from our orchestra, band, percussion ensemble and jazz orchestra, but fantastic moments to recognize all of the groups’ team achievements along with individual recognition. The following awards are highlights from the individual recognitions:
Leonard Bernstein Award
for Musicianship and Creative Leadership
Madi Hively, cellist
Corbie Brantner, violinist
Owen Haines, trombonist
Sophia Jensen, clarinetist
Louis Armstrong Jazz Award
for Exemplary Achievement in Jazz
Jacob Perry, saxophonist
National Orchestra Award
for Exemplary Achievement in Orchestra
Savannah Smith, violinist
John Philip Sousa Award
for Exemplary Achievement in Band
Alma McDonald, clarinetist
We are so grateful for the emotional message Mr. Hardt shared at the Wednesday concert about the fact that music was shared in our school on such important dates like Veterans Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Those normal events helped foster our school's BIG Vision because students could hear the school coming together through the many incredible performances shared from orchestra and band productions. Thank you students for an amazing start to the Ridgeline HS Music Department.
Please come join us at our next band booster meeting to meet other great parents, vote on new board members and find out how to get involved this next year! See you on Monday!
Please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/hkj4HugNPeMQpy2Y7 if you are interested in serving on the board.

Point of Light Inspiration Honor Roll 2022
In 2020, the Points of Light Inspiration Honor Roll started as part of The George H.W. 2022-2023 Falcon Link Crew
Wednesday morning was the first ever spring training for our 2022-23 Falcon Link Crew. What an awesome group of leaders we have at RHS! Thanks to Mr. Hardt for setting the tone with our leaders this morning by letting them know the importance and influence of their role at Ridgeline. The leaders bonded with partner tag, small group activities which they will also do with the incoming freshmen at orientation, ate donuts, captured fun photos, shared high school advice, played 64 Squares, Man Overboard, and much more!
Thank you to our new Falcon Link Crew for fully participating at spring training! We have a great year ahead in 2022-23!
See you on August 25, 26, and 31 for our next training days and freshmen orientation!
Email Mrs. Demarest or Mrs. Grisafi, your Falcon Link Crew Coordinators if you have any questions.
CPR Classes
We would like to thank the Spokane Valley Fire Department for taking time to come to Ridgeline and equip our freshmen health students with the ability to save a life using CPR and/or AED. Thank you, SVFD.
AND.....
A huge shout out to Liberty Lake Jimmy Johns for taking care of lunch for the firefighters today at Ridgeline High School. Your support of our school and the first responders that support our students is awesome. Thank you, Shane McMaster and the Liberty Lake Jimmy Johns crew.
All Chromebooks & Chargers need to be turned in by June 17th
- Our community puzzles have been a hit! If you have an old 500 or 1,000 piece puzzle you’d like to donate to the library we would love to assemble it.
- A gentle reminder that all library books are now due. If you have any Ridgeline property laying around your house, please send it to school with your teen.
- All chromebooks and CHARGERS will be collected next week. Hustle these up and turn them in pretty please.
Thank you for supporting the Ridgeline Library! We’ve had an amazing year up here and the fun will continue in the fall.
Falcon Artists
The Liberty Lake Arts and Parks Commission has chosen eight of our amazing artists here at Ridgeline to have their artwork featured on the utility box in front of our high school on Country Vista! We're so proud of Alison Schmedtje, Skyah Olson, Madison Hormel, Hannah Mostek, Allison Pegram, Abigail Ellwein, Kaitlyn Rose, and Elliana Thompson and all their hard work.
Look for the box to be wrapped later this summer with these beautiful pieces!
Ridgeline AP Environmental Science
Ridgeline AP Environmental Science students presented their Sustainable City proposal to Liberty Lake City Council members. They had to incorporate many of the units we learned about this year including urban development, agriculture, energy resources, municipal waste, water, nature preserves, schools and public safety. Thank you to Dan Dunne, Tom Sahlberg, Officer Mark Holthaus, Jesse Hardt and Abby Frandsen for giving feedback to our students.

Summer School Registration
From the Attendance Desk
Reminder- School starts at 7:45am Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. School starts at 8:15am on Thursday. We are starting to see more and more students arriving to school at or after the posted start time. This is causing students to be late to 1st period. It's really important that whether a student drives to school or is dropped off, they arrive with enough time to be in class and ready to go at 7:45 (M,T,W,F) or 8:15 (Th) depending on the day. Please talk with your students about the importance of being to school and classes on time.
If your student is absent from school please call our attendance line at 509-558-3801 to excuse their absence.
Go Falcons!
