Virtual Reality Learning
Fifth and sixth grade students were the first to be introduced to Virtual Reality learning, a fun and exciting new way to teach students about the world around us!
Teacher: Seth Terry
Subject: Geography
Mr. Terry's 6th grade class used the Virtual Reality to learn about the Caribbean islands. They looked at underwater images of a shipwreck, sharks, and a picture of students at a school in Haiti. The students commented on the differences in the environment as well as how "clean" it looked. They also noted that all the kids at the school had to wear uniforms.
Teacher: Tawyna Shirocky
Subject: 5th Grade Science
Students looked at how wind, water, and ice causes weathering, erosion, and deposition. They also looked at glaciers, caves, sand dunes, and canyons.

Message from the Principal of 1949
The simulation from your imaginative minds, seasoned and sobered by your cultural heritage, justifies this responsibility: for the world's main hope for peace and progress lies in the continuous flow of creative youth - partially free from the prejudices of the past.
I have profound faith that you, if given proper training, will shoulder the responsibility well, and I pledge to help in your preparation to the best of my ability.

Is It True?
The Austria wildfires have been all over the news, but in case you didn't hear:
Dunnarts, the mouse-like marsupials, are in trouble. Little was known about them, and it is very possible we may never know, as the fires have destroyed their food source. It is very unlikely they could outrun a fire, but hope is held out some survived hiding in rock crevices.
The glossy back-cockatoo may be able to fly away, but their food source is destroyed now as well. Before they made their home on Kangaroo Island, humans destroyed a lot of their habitat on the mainland. Whether global warming or arsonist started the fires in Austria, either way it could be debated if humans play a factor in the disaster.
Koala's, one of the favorites in stuffed bear collections, is actually a marsupial whose future was promising with activists fighting to keep them off the endangered list. The fire has killed thousands. The ones on the island were disease free, however many on the mainland suffer from Chlamydia, which can cause reproduction problems.
Not only animals have been effected, which can be inferred above, but the island's flora has literally gone up in smoke. May its uniquest not be lost.
