MESSAGE FROM JASON WESLEY
Dear Parcells Families,
We are having an amazing year at Parcells, and the second quarter is underway! As we move forward, we remain excited about all the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead for our cherished middle school. Our commitment to academic excellence continues to drive us, and we are equally focused on ensuring that students enjoy a well-rounded educational experience. This means not only excelling in the classroom but also developing the skills, values, and knowledge that will support their growth as individuals. We look forward to the many achievements, both big and small, that will shape the remainder of this school year.
As the holiday season is approaching, we are planning many fun activities here at Parcells. Over We may be showing some holiday movies to our students and providing our teachers a well deserved gift of time. All of the movies will be rated PG or less. If you would not like your child to participate in the viewing of holiday movies, please reach out and let us know.
RISING 5th GRADE INFORMATION NIGHT PARCELLS AUDITORIUM
CONGRATULATIONS TO JULIAN WOODS
Mr. Torrento and the Parcells Band Program were thrilled to welcome Detroit Symphony Orchestra Oboist Geoffrey Johnson to Parcells Middle School on Monday, November 25th! Geoffrey spent time with our 6th-grade woodwind class, helping students explore the oboe and guiding the selection of one lucky student to take up this beautiful instrument.
After seven students gave it a try, Julian Woods was selected as the new oboist and awarded a $300 instrument switch scholarship to study privately with Geoffrey. This incredible opportunity was made possible by the generosity of the Grosse Pointe North Instrumental Boosters, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support.
A heartfelt thank you to Geoffrey for not only sharing his time and talent with our students but also performing for them—it was an unforgettable experience that will inspire us all for years to come!
Congratulations, Julian, and welcome to the world of oboe!

OFFICE NEWS
- Please talk to your child the night before or in the morning before school about any after school plans. It is disruptive to get messages to the students during class time. WE UNDERSTAND THAT SOMETIMES THERE ARE LAST MINUTE CHANGES AND THAT IS OK TO CALL FOR!!!
- Students should not be calling home because they forgot something unless the teacher asks them to. This is also disruptive to class time. Please instill in your child the importance of planning ahead. If you drop something off to your student during the school day your student will get an email to their schoology. Please remind them to check their schoology email throughout the school day. Calling the classrooms is very disruptive. Thank you for your understanding.
- After the school bell rings in the morning the only entrance that should be used is the one along Sunningdale at the end of the GP Woods Library Parking Lot. The door is called the H door and it is PARCELLS SECURE ENTRANCE. This is also the door that students should come in if they are late or parents should come in if needing to enter the building during the school day.
ATTENDANCE LINE
If your student is staying home for any reason please call the attendance line at 313-432-4601 or email hargera@gpschools.org and leave a reason for the absence.
