RULH High School Spanish Club to Hold Cinco de Mayo Celebration at Library Annex
Don’t miss out on a Cinco de Mayo celebration with the RULH HS Spanish Club on Friday, May 10th, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Ripley Library Annex Building!
As you all know, we annually observe Cinco de Mayo in the U.S., honoring an 1862 military victory in which a vastly outnumbered Mexican army defeated invading French troops in the Battle of Pueblo.
For this occasion, the Spanish Club at Jr. / Sr. High School wants to invite you to our Cinco de Mayo Celebration, which will take place on Friday, May 10th, from 6:00 to 10:00pm at the Ripley Library Annex Building. We want to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
We will have a Hispanic guest, Óscar Salamanca Alarcón, Music Educator and Director of La Fórmula Music Productions, who will entertain the attendees with a very unique Hispanic flavor. We will offer Hispanic appetizers, some of which will be prepared by our students under the guidance of our HS Family & Consumer Science Teacher, Mrs. Tammy Whaley. To add more atmosphere to the evening, we will have Hispanic music.
We are thrilled to share and embrace the cultural diversity with our community and celebrate all that unite us!. We hope you save the date and can make it.
Thank you and we hope to see you at the Ripley Library next Friday, May 10th, at 6:00pm!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Claudia Castle
