Today, we proudly honor Veterans Day—a time to recognize and thank the brave men and women who have served our country. Their commitment and sacrifice have made a profound impact on our lives and freedoms. Not just today, but every day - thank you, Veterans.

We’re also looking forward to all the fun and excitement at the Fall Frenzy this Friday! It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students to make lasting memories with their friends. A huge thanks to all the parents and volunteers who help make this event possible—we couldn’t do it without your support!

It is starting to feel like fall, and you know what that means - the Fall Frenzy! This event allows your kids to let loose and have fun with their friends on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Collins from 4 PM - 7 PM. We will offer your student pizza (including gluten free if needed), popcorn, cookies, and opportunities to win some sweet food prizes. We also provide entertainment such as dance music, a photo booth, an inflatable, games, and (temporary) body art! Plus students can buy tickets to win raffle prizes. Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher.

Referrals will be accepted from October 1 - December 19, 2024. The referral form is located below. You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage. Please return to Lisa Lackey at llackey@conroeisd.net when complete.

Generation Texas Week is November 18-22! Student planners were printed before the date was changed by the district, so please follow this schedule instead of what is in your child's planner. We are looking forward to celebrating and thinking about our Cobras' plans for their futures!

We are looking forward to an exciting year of teaching art to your child at Collins. We believe art education should be fun, empowering, but also relevant to our students’ lives both in and outside of the classroom. Our program is designed to develop and improve creative and technical skills in the beginner or experienced art student.

If you have not already done so please pay the art/music fee through your school cash online account. This fee will purchase the supplies your student will need throughout the school year in both art and music. Students are welcome to bring their own art supplies to supplement what is provided by Collins but it is in no way required. Happy drawing!

Pickleball was a lot of fun! The kids are ready to take on their parents in a game at a local court! 🙂 Our next few weeks leading up to Thanksgiving will be full of review skills and games. We will have our last Cobra cardio before break on November 12th.

Shout out to LCs 5-3 and 5-5 for learning how to use Adobe Express and AI to generate images and animate characters in their science classes. They created robots who use different forms of energy, and used Adobe Express to animate them and bring their robots to life.

It is Flu Season!

Flu shots help reduce your chance of getting the flu, and also lessen the severity of your symptoms if you were to get sick with the Flu. As always, the best way to prevent illness is by washing your hands! Frequently wash your hands and work to avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

We are excited to kick off our annual tamale sale and wanted to give all of you the opportunity to purchase just in time for the holiday!

  • 4:10 PM Walkers dismissed - continue to scan parents cars using sign with student's ID number. Students will meet parents at cones 1 - 7. Once a flight is loaded it will be dismissed to take a RIGHT hand turn only to exit.
  • Buses will be dismissed based on bus arrival to campus.
