Semester Close Out Information
If your child is enrolled in a high school credit course, please note that no exams may be taken early. Opportunities to take any missed exam(s) will start on Tuesday, May 28. Please contact the counseling office at (281) 634-3088 to arrange a time to take any missed exam(s). All missed exams must be made up by Wednesday, June 5. Students will be given the same amount of time to take each make-up exam as was originally scheduled during semester exam week, which is approximately 2 hours.
Please also note that our Early Release Days are Wednesday, May 22nd and Thursday, May 23rd at 1:25. On these two days, students will have two options for lunch—bring lunch from home or order a sack lunch from the cafeteria. On Monday and Tuesday of the final week of school, students will order sack lunches (if needed) for the two early release days (Wednesday and Thursday) to give the cafeteria staff ample time to plan. On Wednesday and Thursday, students will eat their lunch in their classrooms at the conclusion of their first exam before proceeding to their final class/exam. Specific lunch times may be found in the Middle School exam schedule linked above. Please note we will not be able to accommodate lunch visitors or drop-offs of lunches during the final week of school.
NOTE: On our two early release days, the LATEST time parents will be able to check students out of school early is 12:30 PM. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
What to Bring to School May 22nd – May 23rd
Starting Wednesday, May 22nd, students should bring minimal supplies with them. Therefore, no backpacks, string bags, or large bags/purses will be allowed at school starting Wednesday, May 22nd. Students may only bring:
- pencils/pens
- test review material
- a book to read
- band/orchestra instrument (if applicable)
- a lunch from home (if not purchasing/ordering from cafeteria)
- a small purse, if needed
Please help us minimize any distractions by ensuring that students do not bring bags to school. No blankets or stuffed items are allowed. Also, dress code and ALL school rules are still in effect.
Buses and Transportation: Please understand that we will not be able to honor requests for students to ride bus routes other than their own designated route. Students who do not have bus-riding privileges are not able to ride buses with their bus-riding friends. Therefore, please plan accordingly so that everyone experiences a smooth dismissal process at the end of the year. NOTE: On our two early release days, the LATEST time parents will be able to check students out of school early is 12:30 PM. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Students should self-select books to read that suit their interests and preferences.
FBISD Summer Reading Letter for Parents - Includes many website links and other literary resources curated by the district https://www.fortbendisd.com/summerreading
Fort Bend County Libraries: Summer Reading Challenge - Registration starts soon; students log their own reading time and receive prizes for 600 and 1200 minutes. Additional prizes will be given by the SLMS Library to all participating students when they return from the summer.

PTO Updates
A Message from the SLMS PTO
Greetings Titan Families!
As we near the end of the school year, it marks the time to begin the recruitment process for our PTO board and committees. This year we have many board members who have completed their two year terms and we are saying goodbye to those who are moving on to high school. This turnover will open up many positions, big and small. Whether you are new to volunteering or are a seasoned PTO/PTA volunteer, we invite you to join the SLMS PTO Board. We will have two upcoming opportunities to learn more about the open board and committee positions and what all they entail - see below. The majority of our board is made up of full/part-time working parents who all share the same goal - support the Titan students, Titan teachers and staff and the school as a whole! Join us and help make a difference.

Support SLMS PTO through Kroger Community Rewards
The Kroger Family of Companies is committed to community engagement, positive social impact and charitable giving at the national and local levels. Every community is unique, but our common goal is to partner with the neighborhoods we serve and help the people there live healthier lives.
One of the ways in which we do this is through our Kroger Community Rewards program. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at Kroger and swipe your Shopper’s Card.
Here’s how it works:
- Go to www.kroger.com and create an account or sign in to your account.
- Go to “My Account” at the top right corner.
- Go to “Community Rewards” on the left-side menu.
- Search for “SLMS PTO” or “CN110” under “Find an Organization”.
- Click “Enroll” and confirm that you are enrolled in Community Rewards with SLMS PTO
Monthly Donations to PTO
Support our students and staff by setting up a monthly donation to PTO. You can set this automatic donation starting at a few dollars. Remember that every dollar helps our PTO do AMAZING things for our community.
