Principal's Message π€
Hi Panther Families!
Happy February! It is my pleasure to share some important updates and highlight key information that will guide our journey through this month.
8th Grade Promotion Requirements:
As we approach the second half of the school year, I want to remind our 8th-grade Panthers and their families about the academic and behavioral requirements for the end of the year activities and promotion participation (see below). Achieving academic success is not only about grades but also about demonstrating positive behavior and leadership qualities. These requirements have been established to ensure a well-rounded and prepared transition to high school. We appreciate your continued support in reinforcing these expectations with your 8th-grade Panther.
Academic Support Opportunities:
Recognizing the importance of providing additional support to our Panthers, we offer numerous opportunities for academic assistance before and after school. Our dedicated educators are available to provide tutoring sessions to help our Panthers excel in their studies. We encourage Panthers to take advantage of these resources to enhance their understanding of various subjects and to seek assistance whenever needed. Please refer to the tutoring information below for details on times and locations.
ELA Growth in iReady Assessment:
I am thrilled to share that our recent iReady assessments have revealed significant growth in English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency across multiple grades:
6th Grade: 150 students
7th Grade: 117 students
8th Grade: 141 students
These results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Panthers, teachers, and supportive parents. I commend each Panther for their commitment to academic success. We will be recognizing these Panthers during their PAW classes next week. Please be on the lookout for a special announcement on Monday with the names of those who grew in English Language Arts!
As we navigate through February, let us continue to foster a culture of learning, support, and achievement. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for your ongoing partnership!
Panther Proud,
Ms. Castillo
π VP Corner
January 23rd, 24th, and 25th Mrs. Castillo and I met with each grade level during PAW classes to review the school expectations and βthe Panther Wayβ. Emails were sent out to students and families after those presentations. Please be sure to review those with your students. Please pay close attention to the expectations for the last 7 weeks of school for students to participate in their grade level end of year events.
Missing Items- We have had a few students bringing personal items from home and they have gone missing. Please encourage your students to leave items that are not needed for school at home.
Locker Rooms- It is important that your student is locking their PE lockers and placing their items in the lockers during their designated PE time; this includes PE clothes, shoes, bags, and personal items.
Best regards,
Mrs. Fernandez
Assistant Principal

SAVE THE DATE!!
Please mark your calendars for March 7th! We are having ExplorIt Science Center from Davis come out to do an amazing science night for our students and their families. It is a free event. Feel free to bring siblings. It will be from 5:30-7pm in our Spirit Center.
There will be stations to interact with and lots of fun hands-on things! We are in need of volunteers to help man the stations.
If you are interested in volunteering you need to have a volunteer from on file with the district. Volunteers would be needed at 5 pm for a brief "training" to go over the stations.
Please contact your student's science teacher if you are interested in volunteering.
