Cougar Cub Parent News - Aug 3
Learning is sweet at PGE!
A Message from Ms. Bruhn, Principal
Dear PGE Parents and Guardians,
This is our first parent newsletter for the 2024-2025 school year. Thank you for choosing Pecan Grove Elementary. I know there are many options but I have no doubt your children will feel loved here and learn a lot! Starting in August, I will send the parent newsletter every Friday. This is the place you will find important information, dates, etc. You can also follow us on Twitter @PGE_CougarCubs and @LeadLearnerKB. We are also a Class Dojo school, so you will get an invite from your teacher to enroll in Dojo.
Next week we start school and welcome back our Cougar Cubs to PGE on August 8th. Our teachers and staff have been busy preparing for them this week. Thank you to all the families that have verified their information in Skyward and filled out the beginning of year forms. You should be able to go into Skyward and see the teacher assignments for this year. Our team worked hard to create the classes so that each student is successful this year. At this time, we will not be making any changes to schedules unless it is due to a needed program/service change, such as special education.
Summer Highlights
First, we are thrilled to announce some exciting improvements that have been taking place over the summer:
Facilities Upgrades (2023 Bond Package): Over the summer our school received new flooring in our hallways and many of our classrooms. We also have a concrete track upgrade. Our proposed bond future projects include: a new roof, a playground cover for our equipment, new classroom furniture, new drinking fountains with bottle fillers and other building enhancements.
Professional Development: Our dedicated teachers have been participating in professional development learning throughout the summer to bring innovative teaching strategies and new curriculum to our classrooms.
