Thank You, TJS Teachers and Staff!
Extending tremendous gratitude to our TJS teachers and staff for all that they do for our students, this week and every week. Teachers enjoyed a PTO-sponsored lunch, bagel delivery, donut day, raffle items, and more! Thank you to the parents and students for showering our teachers this week!
Announcing the TJS Teacher of the Year and Educational Services Professional of the Year
Each year a committee of staff and a parent representative go through the difficult process to read the many nominations and vote on the teacher of the year and educational support professional of the year. There is a rigorous rubric we utilize to look through the many nominations. We are pleased to announce this year’s honorees…who will be formally recognized at the June 18, 2024, Board of Education Meeting.
Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Gambino!
Congratulations Mrs. Feron, our Educational Services Professional of the Year!
NEW....May Monthly Activity Calendar
Click the link below to access and print the calendar for the month of MAY. As a family try to do as many of the boxes as you can during the entire month of May! You will see that many of the activities are geared toward Mindfulness activities since the month of May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This month's activity calendar was co-created by STEAM/Technology Teacher, Ms. D'Amico and Third Grade Teacher, Ms. Jenna Madden!

News from Mrs. Bletcher in the Counseling Corner
Yesterday, our 5th Grade Peer Leaders spent time outside cleaning up the TJS and Board of Education grounds. They truly helped to beautify our school and learned that community service is both important and fun! Ms. Kennedy and I want to give a BIG, TJS shout out to all the Peer Leaders who participated in a variety of important school-wide activities this year. We also want to thank all of the parents/guardians who support our program by ensuring that their child is able to attend meetings and participate in our activities. Thank you!!
Kindergarten through fourth grade counseling lessons this month focus on problem solving. Students will have opportunities to brainstorm and role play ways to solve tricky social situations. Please be on the look-out for a conflict/resolution script coming home with your child in the coming days. Fifth grade classroom lessons will focus on learning how to open combination locks, decipher middle school schedules and learning time management skills.
Attention families who qualify for free or reduced lunch! Is your child registered for any summer camp programs? I have 2 camp vouchers that were generously donated that I would like to give away to students whose family may not otherwise be able to afford camp. Please reach out to me directly if you are interested. Please know that all inquiries are confidential. bletcherj@madisonnjps.org
