Homecoming!
This week is going to be filled with lots of fun Homecoming activities taking place both on and off campus. Float building, Spirit Week, Pep Rally, Parade, King and Queen voting, Football Game, King and Queen Crowning, and the Dance are all happening this week. Here is a little bit of info about each of these events.
Float Building: All students are invited to help build their class float! Floats for our homecoming parade are built on golf carts at homes in town over two weeks finishing up this Thursday night. Thank you so much to the Slaughter Family, the Salata Family, the Sager Family, and the Heart Family who have graciously opened their homes to our students the next two weeks, and to all of the parents who are donating time and snacks to keep the kids building. Encourage your students to attend float building. It’s a wonderful class bonding event, and every class needs a lot of help to make the floats great! See the graphics for the building schedule and location of each grade level.
Pep Rally: The rally is going to be in the gym after the 2nd period on Friday. (students only)
Parade: Come to the parade on Friday after school to watch all of our great floats and school groups come down Orange Ave! The parade begins at 4:30 pm on Friday and rolls down Orange Ave. from Adella (by Miguels) to 7th street. All students are invited to walk in the parade with their class. Students walking in the parade should wear their class shirts or class shirt color. Seniors white, Juniors Black/Pink, Sophomores beige, Freshmen Green. The staging is on Adella between 10th and Ynez (over by the post office).
King and Queen Voting and Crowning Ceremony: The voting for King and Queen will take place online with voting opening up at the end of the pep rally and closing right before our football game. The voting link is Https://tinyurl.com/islanderhoco! All voting needs to be done using CUSD google accounts. The Homecoming football game is at 7:00 pm and the crowning ceremony will take place at halftime on the field.
Homecoming Dance : Join us for the Homecoming dance on Saturday, October 5th, from 6:45 PM to 9:45 PM at Nova San Diego, conveniently located just a short distance from school at 454 Sixth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101.

Please ensure that you have arranged for your student to have a ride home promptly at 9:45 PM.

A separate email detailed information on the platform, along with videos and resources. If you have any questions regarding your Xello account, please email Kristen Ereno at kristen.ereno@coronadousd.net.
