Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
WE WANT YOUR INPUT! (April 16, 2025)
Thank you for participating in this online meeting!
Welcome! We value our home-school partnership and want you to have a voice in decision making. Research has shown when parents are engaged in their child's learning, students experience higher achievement. Thank you for participating today and for the support you give your child at home.
This is our input meeting for the spring. Parents and families of students who attend Catoosa County Title I schools have influence over many aspects of their students’ education including how and what parent and family engagement looks like. In a non-Title I school, there is no certainty that this would take place. All parents and guardians are invited to participate and give suggestions throughout the year. Today, we will be asking for your input on our policies, School Improvement Plan, the Title l budget, and much more!

Each year the school and district create policies with our parents that describe how we will provide opportunities for families to be involved and support student learning. These policies assure parents and families that they are important partners with Catoosa County schools in the education of their children. We collect input on these policies throughout the year and use your suggestions to make revisions for the next school year.
In March, the Woodstation PROPOSED policy for SY25-26 was sent out with a request for input. We received a lot of positive input about our home-school connection. You can review a PROPOSED draft of this policy by clicking the first button below.
We would also love your suggestions for the PROPOSED district policy. Please click on the second button below to view the CCPS District Family Engagement policy made available by the District Family Engagement Coordinator office.
Please let us know if you approve both policies on the Feedback Form at the end of this meeting.
School and State Assessments
School and State Assessments
Students in Kindergarten-5th grade take MAP Growth Fluency (K-1) Reading (2-5) and Math (1-5) Assessments in August, December, and May.
Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade take the Georgia Milestones Assessment beginning April 21.
We use the results of these tests to set school goals which focus on improving student achievement. These school goals and the strategies the school will use to meet these goals are detailed in our School Improvement Plan. Mrs. Dyer explains more in the video below.

You are encouraged to give us your suggestions for our School Improvement Plan. Please leave us any input you have on the Feedback Form at the end of this meeting. Your input will help us as we revise our plan for next school year.
Click the Title l Spending button above to see a graph showing our Title l budget. WES participates in a Title l Schoolwide Program. This means funds are used to enrich the academic environment for all students.
This year, we are spending our Title l funds on salaries for our Academic Coach and our Family Engagement Coordinator. Part of the budget is also used to host academic nights for families (FAST, conferences, transition meetings) and to purchase supplies for our family engagement program. Title l funds may also be used to provide professional learning opportunities for teachers and staff.
As a parent of a child at a Title l school, you have the right to give input about how the school budgets its Family Engagement funds. The list below includes some of the suggestions we have received this year:
- Salaries
- FAST
- Professional Learning for Teachers
- Educational Field Trips
- Tutoring
Let us know additional suggestions for how we can use our Title l funds to help our students learn on the Feedback Form for this meeting.
Our compact is an agreement that parents, teachers, and students develop together that explains how families and teachers will work together to make sure all students reach grade-level standards. The compact stresses the importance of good communication between home and school and offers strategies to help support student learning.
We review our compacts during our FAST Meetings and FAST Conferences. Please click the button above to review the compact for your student's grade-level. If you have any suggestions for revising our compacts, please let us know on the Feedback Form at the end of this meeting.
