Wattles Park Parent Connection

Come join us for an amazing evening of student presentations of historical figures and artwork positioned throughout Wattles Park Elementary.

4th grade students will be presenting their research on historical people in a wax museum format. Students of all grades will have artwork displayed throughout the building. Donations will be accepted to walk through the exhibits that will help support The Zoe Foundation which provides art supplies to cancer patients while they are receiving treatment.

note: 4th grade students should arrive at 6:00 pm on April 30th to prepare their exhibit. A 4th grade dress rehersal of the wax museum will be Tuesday, April 23rd from 2-3 PM.

Most of our students wrapped up the English Language Arts portion of the M-STEP this week. Our 4th grade will begin the math portion of the M-STEP on Wednesday, May 1st and our 3rd grade will begin the math portion on Thursday, May 2nd. These state tests give us important information about our student's progress toward achievement and growth standards. Please help your children get a good night's rest prior to the test date.

Our annual Wattles Park Fun Fair will be May 3rd from 6-8PM hosted by our Parent Teacher Community(PTC). If the weather is good(the forcast looks great!), almost all events will be outside on the playground. This year's event will be one of the biggest ever with multiple food trucks, community partners, games for the kids, and of course the ever popular tunk tank! Pre-sale tickets are available in the office if you want to avoid the ticket line at the event.

Our 4th grade students will be having their classes at Binder Park Zoo from May 6-10. Students will leave Wattles Park daily by bus at 9:00am and return to school close to 2:00pm. The Wattles Park 4th grade teachers will be teaching some of the regular 4th grade content while at the zoo, but the students will get some behind the scenes learning from the zoo staff during this week.

Wattles Park is planning a Career Day on May 24th from 1-3 pm. We are looking for parents that could represent various professions for our Career Day. Parents are invited to join our 4th grade clap-out on May 31st. This event will start at 11:30AM. Parents can line the sidewalk starting at the main entrance and extending to the playground gate.
