"Bytes" From Your School Leader, Dr. Townsend
September 27, 2024
Greetings Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy Families,
Happy Friday! Believe it or not, this is our last full week of September. How was your week? We are sending thoughts and prayers to loved ones and friends who are in the path of Helene. The weather in Indy today has us under a High Wind Advisory with rain, so please be careful if you need to go out for anything.
A huge, "thank you" to everyone who completed the parent survey for our charter renewal. We appreciate you for sharing and when the data is shared with us, we will definitely read, review, process, reflect and take action. We strive to be our best in all areas and we cannot do that without feedback, so thank you again.
It is that time of year to share annual information with you, as we are a Title I School. The letter is below for your review. Should you have any questions, please connect with me directly.
Registration is still open for the 2024-2025 Academic School Year. Please share your success at PLA Virtual with friends, family, neighbors and organizations, as we may be a great school choice for them as well. Our registration link is below. We appreciate all the referrals that have been shared with us by YOU. They are proud to give your name as the person who referred them, and we also sing your praises in return as we appreciate all of our families.
We look forward to seeing your scholar(s) on Monday, September 30, 2024 for week 6 of our school year! Our Grades 6-12 scholars begin their school day at 8:00am and our Grades K-5 scholars begin at 8:30am.
Have a wonderful weekend!
With Gratitude,
Dr. Townsend, Principal

A NOTE ON MENTAL HEALTH:
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel, and act as we cope with life. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood and aging. . Please communicate with your students on how they are thinking and feeling. Please seek help if you feel your student is struggling with mental health.
