IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • Update all of your information by following the three steps below! It is very important that we have accurate information.
  • The Astro Spirit Store will be closing on June 15th. Make your selections and be ready for the new school year!
  • Please submit your scholar's 2025-26 pick-up list by June 11.
  • Bus transportation requests are due by June 15. See more info below.
  • ESP, our new after-school program, will begin accepting registrations on June 23 at 10 am. If you have questions, please reach out to ESP manager, Harold Kouns, at hkouns@lexingtonky.gov
  • You can expect to receive class placements, including a welcome letter, by August 1st.
  • Orientation for the 25-26 school year will be on August 7th.
  • This will be the last edition of The Carver Connection until mid-July when The Carver Connection will resume; however, we will push out any necessary notifications as needed.
  • Please note that our front office will be closed on Fridays this summer.

HIGH PRIORITY - UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION

The start of the 2025-26 school year will be here before you know it, and you can get ahead of the game this summer in three easy steps!

1. Share your student's transportation needs for our new bus routing system.
2. Confirm and/or update your family's household information in Infinite Campus.
3. If eligible, apply for your child's free and reduced meals starting July 21.

2025-26 TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS

For qualifying scholars, special program bus stop requests MUST be received by June 15 in order to be processed for the first day of school.


Please note that bus stop requests MUST be submitted EVERY year regardless of the previous year's bus status. Stops are created based on the current requests - submit those NOW so that a stop is created by the first day of school! Late submissions may not be ready until the second week of school. All routes will be publicly available August 1.


The special program routing criteria can be found below if you are unsure if your scholar qualifies for a bus stop.

ASTRO SPIRIT STORE & UNIFORMS

The Astro Spirit Store is NOW OPEN and will close on June 15th. Make your selections for the 2025-26 school year and be ready when the year begins! We have added a bundle this year if you wish to purchase several shirts at one time.


*The store will NOT reopen until August 1; therefore, make uniform selections NOW!


GWC UNIFORMS:

  • Students MUST be in tan khaki shorts or pants
  • ALL tops/sweatshirts MUST be from our GWC approved online store; NO outer wear, including non-GWC approved sweatshirts, can be worn inside the building.
  • Students MUST be in close-toed shoes (e.g. sneakers).

UNIFORM DONATIONS

Do you have uniforms your scholar can no longer wear? GWC is accepting ALL GWC approved tops and sweatshirts. We can NOT accept CGWP attire as those items are no longer part of our uniform.


If you wish to make a donation, please drop off items in the school office Monday through Thursday, until June 12th, from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. We appreciate your donations!

25-26 PICK UP LIST

As we approach the end of the year, we are thinking ahead to the 2025-26 school year. Therefore, it is time to solidify the 25-26 pick up list. Please complete this FORM by June 11th.


Important Reminders:

  • IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE SAFETY OF STUDENTS, ANY INDIVIDUAL THAT IS NOT ON THE PICKUP LIST WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PICK UP A SCHOLAR.
  • If someone who is NOT on this list will be picking your child up from school, it will be necessary for you to notify the office in writing by NOON, via email, at kisha.jackson@fayette.kyschools.us.; otherwise, we can NOT release the scholar to that individual.
  • Teachers can NOT accept any changes related to transportation, including pickup lists; those requests MUST go through our front office staff.
  • The individuals on your pickup list will be asked to show photo identification.
  • Please notify the office in writing of any changes to this list as soon as they occur.


*The emergency list is different from the pick-up list. A person on the emergency list is NOT authorized to pick up your scholar.

JOIN OUR PTA TODAY

Please consider joining our PTA, membership cost is $5, by following the link below. Keep in mind that membership is an annual renewal; therefore, if you were a member before, you will need to join again. Our goal is to have at least 110 of our families join our PTA; this includes all adults in the household. Let's meet this goal and establish a strong home/school partnership!
