The Buzz
Spring Term - 11th January 2024
Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers
Happy New Year and I hope that you and your family had a lovely festive break. We are pleased to be writing to you with some good news to start the new term. The Mayor of London has announced that he will be extending the funding for Universal Free School Meals for another academic year. This will mean that all children at Hampton Junior School will continue to have the option of taking a free daily meal. Please find attached below the letter from the Deputy Mayor of Children and Families with full details.
Congratulations to Mrs Nicolaou who won our Governor Hamper in December. We hope you enjoyed all the lovely goodies over the festive break and a huge thank you to parents who helped raise £214.29.
HJS are incredibly fortunate to have a well established gardening area with a polytunnel, vegetable/flower beds and a pond. This resource is well loved by the children and is used throughout the year. For our children to make the most of this area, we really need your help! The school is looking for a parent, or group of parents, who would be willing to run a gardening club once or twice a week to enable this space to be maintained and further developed. If you have an interest in running such a group, could you please arrange a meeting with Mr James. The gardening area benefits so many children and we hope to find someone passionate and keen to ensure it continues to 'grow!'
We have updated our Calendar of Events. This is a "live" document which enables us to ensure all dates are up to date at all times.
I hope you keep warm this weekend.
Mr James
