BEAR MAIL- Last one of the Year!
Thursday June 5th.
Hello BCE Community,
Well, we all made it through another fantastic school year! I am so proud of each and every student. We have done so many amazing things together this year. Here are a few to remember:
- Kindness parade downtown
- Carnival
- Ice Cream Social
- Walk-Jog-a-Thon
- Book Fairs
- Fire Truck Fun
- Field Day
- Read-a-thon
- Music and Drumming
- Art Projects
- 4th and 5th Grade Plays
- Reading amazing literature
- Writing amazing pieces
- Learning so much in math and science
- Planting a native plant habitat
- Field Trips
- And so much more!
We couldn't do all of these things without our teachers, staff, and you. The Parent Club has been such a support this year, helping us earn money for drumming, running club, and so much more next year. Thank you for all your efforts and support. BCE students and staff appreciate everything you do.
While summer always feels so short, please remember that the "summer slide" is real. Keeping up with reading, writing, and math is very important. Each student received a summer bridge book as well as a QR code to keep up skills this summer! The online option lets your child use Lexia and i-Ready to support summer learning and prepare for next year.
We have so many lost and found clothes. Please come by and check to see if you have any needed clothes. There are so many great clothes. Once school is out, all the clothes will go to a charity.
The office will be closing for the summer on Thursday June 12th. We will re-open July 28th. The 1st Day of School is August 7, 2025.
Have a great Summer!!

Summer learning - Brain Quest 2025
BCE Summer Brain Quest Summer 2025
BCE has two options for summer learning this year!
BCE’s Summer Brain Quests contain learning activities to help your child retain the gains they made this year and prepare for next year! Each path has a map showing their progress as they move through the Quests!
Summer Brain Quest Book: Complete the Brain Quest Map by the end of the summer. For every lesson, place a sticker on the map. Complete the map by the end of the summer to participate in a fun event at the start of the year.
Summer Brain Quest (online): The online option lets you use Lexia and i-Ready to support your summer learning and prepare for next year. Complete one Lexia or one i-Ready lesson daily and check off the box. Complete the map by the end of the summer to participate in a fun event at the start of the year.
Make learning a part of every day this summer!
Every student who completes the activities can bring their filled-in map to school next year to earn a reward!

Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
Support our Bear Paw Store!
Our students work hard every day and are rewarded with Bear Paws.We have a Bear Paw Store about every 4-6 weeks. Our first Bear Paw Store next year is Sept. 19th. If you are able, please consider purchasing items from our Amazon Wish List. Donations are appreciated!
Bear Wear!!!
We wear Bear Wear on Fridays!! Get your Bear Wear here to join in on the school spirit.
PBIS
Positive Behavior Support will continue to be a major focus for BCE this year. Our focus is on the BCE Way - Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. We give out Bear Paws for making good choices. Bear Paws will be used like cash at the Bear Paw student store. Our first Bear Paw Store was today! Students had a lot of fun! Ask your BCE Bear how they earned Bear Paws.
