World Kindness Day - Wednesday, November 13
World Kindness Day is November 13! CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION on this great tradition. This is also a half day for P/T conferences. DISMISSAL IS AT 12 NOON.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILDREN WEAR BLUE IN HONOR OF KINDNESS.
On Wednesday, we will be learning about kindness! CLICK HERE TO SEE A GENERAL OUTLINE OF SOME OF THE LEARNING FOR THE DAY.
In addition to the learning about kindness, students will be creating a kindness chain, kindness signs and we'll be marching up to the high school and back in honor of kindness. This kindness parade will start at around 10:15am. Parents are welcome to cheer us on from ACROSS THE STREET. Please do not block the sidewalks.
Please be reminded that November 13 is Parent/Teacher Conference Day and all students will be released at 12 noon. We challenge families to use the half day off from school with your kids to practice random acts of kindness to really bring this day of World Kindness to reality.

Honoring Our Veterans!
The Park Avenue Halloween Parade was a HIT!!
Morning Drop Off
My fabulous team that welcomes our students to school by directing traffic and opening doors each morning needs our help. Some cars are driving very fast in the drop off lane and moving the cars when they're helping kids get out. In order to continue this wonderful tradition, we need to keep them safe, by driving slowly and being patient in the lanes. Also, there should NEVER be any cars doing U-turns or dropping off in the center lane at pickup, or dismissal. Please help us to keep our students, and staff, safe.
Virtual Coffee with the Principal - Rescheduled to November 15
PLEASE CLICK HERE for the Virtual Principal Coffee schedule and link. This month, AP Elsy Gonzalez will be joining us to conduct a coffee chat in Spanish while I conduct the conversation in English. All are welcome!
SRP (School Related Professionals) Day - November 19, 2024
SRP Recognition Day is Nov. 19, 2024, in New York State. It is a well-deserved honor for the hard-working women and men who help educate, feed and transport students, monitor their health, administer school offices, and maintain school facilities — providing a safe and nurturing environment for student-centered learning. On November 19, we will be honoring the super heroes of our schools - classroom aides, cafeteria workers, crossing guards, lunch monitors, secretaries, nurses, security guards, teaching assistants, bus drivers and so many more. If one of the SRPs in our school has been special to you, please consider making their day special by having your child write a thank you note or give a small handmade gift (drawing, card, craft). We know they'd certainly appreciate it. SRPs Rock!
LOST AND FOUND DECK BOX
In order to better handle our Lost and Found items, we will start storing lost items in the brown deck box outside the main entrance of the school. You may access the deck box at morning drop off, during school hours and at dismissal, including after school programs.
