Muskego Lakes Family Newsletter
September 20th, 2024
Dear Muskego Lakes Families,
Did you know that here at Muskego Lakes, we have over 30+ clubs/athletic opportunities for our Muskies? Today during lunches, we had our Muskego Lakes Co-Curricular Fair to ensure students had a chance to learn more about the different clubs and athletics we offer, and pick up information sheets. We loved being able to see the excitment students had about the clubs and connections some students were making with one another!
Middle school is the perfect time for students to explore, discover their passions, try something new, and connect with others with similar interests. Because of this, we work hard to offer students a wide range of opportunities. By participating in clubs or sports, students grow their self-confidence, practice healthy risk-taking, develop friendships, and learn about their strengths beyond the classroom. In fact, many staff are running clubs based on students' requests.
So, we highly encourage all students to check out at least one club or athletic opportunity this year. If you haven't yet, please ask your child if he/she picked up any of the handouts over lunches this week. We've also included a list of the clubs/athletics for you to review HERE along with links to the flyers for more information.
In partnership,
Rachel and Nancy
Muskego Lakes Principals

After School Bus Transportation
Students are required to ride their assigned bus home. From time to time, students want to or need to go to a friend's house after school. In this situation, a signed note from home is needed. The note should contain the following:
- Student's first and last name
- Date of travel
- Assigned bus route #
- Friend they are going home with
- Friend's bus route #
- Parent/Guardian signature
The note should be dropped off at the main office in the morning. The main office staff will issue a bus pass that can be picked up at lunch or on the way out of school. Students are only able to ride a different bus if they have a school issued bus pass. Following this procedure ensures that buses leave on time and that all students are on the correct buses. Thank you for your help.
Student Photo Day
Student Photo Day is ahead on October 11th. All students are required to get their photo taken for the yearbook and for their school ID card. Students will be briefly called out of class in order to get their photo taken.
If you'd like to purchase a prints, you may do so on their website. You can find our school by simply typing in our school name.
Please know that any absent students will be photographed on Oct 29.
Safety Update & Speak Up Speak Out
In today’s world, it is crucial for every school system to maintain a heightened awareness of school safety. Rest assured, this will always be a top priority within our school system, and we are committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff.
We wanted to let you know that a middle school student in a neighboring community, Mukwonago, received a threatening image via a social media app on Thursday, September 12th. With support from their police force, they continue investigating the matter. They believe their schools are safe, and they are in session today.
Rest assured, if any form of a school threat was received in our district, it would be treated with the utmost seriousness and investigated thoroughly. We are proactive in our approach, and our robust partnership with our local law enforcement agencies ensures that every situation is handled with the necessary diligence.
Events like this create an opportunity for an impactful conversation with your children. Please talk with them about how they would respond if they received information of a threatening nature. Remind them of the importance of reporting information immediately to a trusted adult or through our Speak Up Speak Out app. Additionally, remind them that spreading rumors about a threat is also not okay and could result in significant disciplinary and legal actions. Finally, if you hear something as a parent/guardian, please immediately contact our police department. We all share the responsibility to keep our schools safe, and we appreciate your support.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions, and know that the Speak Up Speak Out link can be found in every Muskego Lakes Family Newsletter.
