Staff Kudos & Shout-Outs
Have you seen a staff member go out of their way, or be extra kind, or extra helpful? We would love to properly recognize them. Please fill out this brief form to thank them.
See the latest kudos below!
Kudos to...
- From one of her parents: Mrs. King is a rockstar! I absolutely love hearing my girl come home singing songs and talking about the learning that’s happening in her room. What a gift Mrs. King is.
- I would like to give a shout out to the front office staff who has been making sure everything runs smoothly and safely at the front. During grandparents day I know they had a lot of traffic, along with the day to day, but they get everyone in and out. Thanks for all you do!
- Kudos to the second grade team! Every time I see them they are so friendly and kind. They are so appreciative and patient as well. I love how each of them knows my son, even if he isn’t in their class.
- Special kudos to Mrs. Robertson who really looks out for my son, and makes sure that my son and everyone in the class has plenty of joy. Mrs. Robertson noticed my son was having a rough day and she noticed it quickly and made sure to give him a big hug. I love how she reminds the kids that if anyone feels like they are losing their joy, to let her know. It’s encouraging how she checks on them when she notices they are not themselves. That makes me feel good to see that my child is truly loved and cared for at Tipps!
- Mrs. King: Thank you for being a loving and patient teacher to Colt. It has been a tremendous help with transitioning to Kindergarten. I love all of the updates and pictures through Class Dojo. I like having a glimpse of what he does during the day. Thank you for being supportive and loving for Colt during these first few weeks of school. :)
- She is so helpful making sure a student that isn't hers get to their correct after school spot! Thank you so much Mrs. King for going above and beyond!
Pep Rally Friday!
This past Friday was our first pep rally of the year! Each six weeks, our students focus on a different character trait during PRIDE time. This six week we focused on PERSERVERANCE. Each teacher picked one student who displayed lots of perserverance over the last six weeks, and we recognized them. We also recogized several teachers who showed perserverance. This was also the time that we recognized our STEAM Stars for the first six weeks and our first round of Beanstack Readers! Great job everyone!

Art on the town ...
If you've had a meal Cha-Cha's lately, you might have seen some new decor on the walls. Some of our amazing Tipps artists had their Hispanic Heritage artwork on the walls! Helton is working on partnering with other area businesses to display our students' art, so keep an eye out around town!
NOTICE OF STATE REQUIRED HEALTH SCREENINGS
State law requires that all public schools hold annual health screenings for students. We
will be screening students throughout the fall semester on all campuses. Students will be
screened for Hearing, Vision, and Acanthosis Nigricans (a visual marker that may
indicate possible signs of type 2 diabetes) in grade levels PK, KG 1, 3, 5, 7 and all New
to District students. Please ensure that your child is wearing his/her eyeglasses/contacts to
school daily.
If further evaluation by your doctor is needed, parents will be notified in writing. Please
note that these screenings do not replace your child’s need for regular health care and
check-ups. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you for your cooperation,

Beanstack Information
Dear Parents,
MISD has purchased a new reading program called Beanstack. Your students will be using this program all year to get them excited about reading! It’s free to use, and you can access it through your child’s Classlink profile. If you have questions about logging in to your child’s Classlink, see the pics below. Please encourage your older readers to read at home, and please read to your younger students out loud. Teachers (as well as me, the Librarian) will also be logging minutes read aloud to students at school. Students will be recognized for their reading minutes at Pep Rallies once a six weeks, and through prizes throughout the year. Thank you for supporting our school, and promoting reading!
