It’s hard to believe, but we’re in the final week of summer break! I hope this summer has been everything you needed
To our dedicated staff: As we prepare to return to school, I want to express my deepest appreciation for all you do. This last week gives you a chance to recharge and reflect on your incredible impact on our students.
To our supportive community: Your involvement and support mean the world to us. With just one more week of summer break, I hope you can enjoy these final days before the school year begins. Your partnership is crucial as we get ready to welcome our students back, and I’m grateful for all you do to support our schools.
Let’s make the most of this last week of summer! Whether you enjoy time with family, get in those final summer activities, or simply relax, I hope it’s excellent.
I am eagerly looking forward to the fantastic start of the school year!
Teacher Shortage
Dear Bellevue Community,
I want to take a moment to address an important issue we’re facing—like many districts across the state, we are experiencing a teacher shortage. This challenge impacts our ability to fully staff our classrooms with the dedicated educators our students deserve.
Please know that we are actively working on solutions to ensure our students continue to receive a high-quality education. This includes recruiting efforts, supporting our current staff, and exploring creative approaches to meet our students’ needs.
We understand this situation is concerning and appreciate your patience and support as we navigate these challenges. Our commitment to your children’s education is unwavering, and we are doing everything in our power to ensure they receive the best education possible.
Thank you for your understanding and for being a valued part of our Bellevue community.

Celebrations, PBIS, and EWIMS
Elementary: Summer school was a success! Students seemed to really enjoy the project based learning. We also had so many people got to the HIL and math conferences. We are excited that we have some new (and returning) faces to the building. Remember, Open house is on Monday.
Jr/Sr High: Summer school went smoothly. The custodians have done a wonderful job getting the buildings ready. We would also like to acknowledge the large number of students that came through the summer to lift weights.
Both the PBIS and EWIMS (Early Warning Indicator) teams have been meeting over the summer to plan some great professional development, incentives, and interventions based upon our student data.
New Staff Spotlight: Karley Rickstad
Hello Everyone!
I’m excited to share a little bit about my journey and my incredible family who keeps me grounded and motivated every day. I’m blessed to have a wonderful wife who’s been my rock through every challenge and three amazing kids who fill our lives with joy, laughter, and endless energy.
As an active-duty Marine, I've dedicated my life to serving our country, embracing the discipline, honor, and commitment that comes with the job. The experiences and lessons I’ve gained in the Marines have shaped me into the person I am today, and I'm grateful for every moment.
Looking ahead, I’m setting my sights on a new mission: becoming an educational counselor/teacher. I’m passionate about guiding and mentoring young people, helping them navigate their educational journeys and realize their full potential. It’s a calling that resonates deeply with me, and I’m eager to bring the same dedication and leadership I’ve honed in the Marines to this new path.
This journey wouldn’t be possible without the support and love of my family. They inspire me to be the best version of myself, and I’m excited for the future as we continue to grow together.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement as I embark on this new adventure!
