Principal's Message
Dear Lincoln Families,
Can you believe we are already done with one month of school. Students have been working hard at learning our R.O.A.R expectations. R.O.A.R. stands for Responsible, Organized, Accountable, and Respectful. To see our R.O.A.R school matrix, please continue reading below. Did you know you can reinforce R.O.A.R at home. I encourage you to have conversations with your children and ask them the following:
1. How can you show you are RESPONSIBLE at home?
2. How can you be ORGANIZED at home?
3. How can you be ACCOUNTABLE at home?
4. How can you be RESPECTFUL at home?
These expectations are taught and modeled on a daily basis. We are encouraging positive behaviors and setting students up to be positive role models. Please work with us on these expectations.
Lastly, Lincoln Elementary is in need of parents to serve on our School Site Council. School Site Council- (SSC) consists of 10 representatives. 3 "Teachers", 1 "Other Staff", 5 "Parents" and the Principal. School Site Council meetings are at Lincoln Elementary School. Each member serves a two-year term. The parents will sit in between 4-5 meetings a school year. The first SSC meeting is scheduled for September 25th , 2024. If you would like to nominate yourself or another parent, please complete this nomination form. Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
September: SELF-AWARENESS: Recognizing Strengths, Self-Confidence, and Self-Efficacy
During the month of September, your child’s SEL instruction will dive deeper into Self-Awareness focusing on recognizing strengths, self-confidence, and self-efficacy skills. Students will learn to make positive self-statements and understand their mental and physical response to the world around them based on their own experiences.
October: SELF-MANAGEMENT: Mindfulness and Stress Management
During the month of October, your child’s SEL instruction will focus on Self-Management skills learning about mindfulness practices and stress management. Stress can affect health, behavior, thoughts, and feelings. Recognizing and developing strategies for managing stress in healthy ways can lead to life-long physical and psychological well-being. This month, students will engage in activities to help them effectively regulate their emotions, control impulses, and manage stress. These activities help build emotional awareness, reflection, and calming skills.
