Dear OUSD Community,
As the 2021-22 school year comes to a close, I would like to congratulate our promoting students and graduating Class of 2022, as well as acknowledge our wonderful Orange Unified community. This has been an exciting year with much to celebrate.
For the third consecutive year, Canyon, El Modena, and Villa Park were once again recognized as U.S. News & World Report’s “Best High Schools in the Nation,” McPherson Magnet and Villa Park High School were the only two public schools in Orange County recognized as Project Lead the Way Distinguished Schools, and seven of our school sites - along with the District as a whole - were recognized by the California Department of Education for the successful implementation of “Pivotal Practices” in 2022.
On behalf of the OUSD Board of Education and District leadership, thank you for your collaboration in support of our efforts to serve the diverse needs of our students and families. We would not have been able to successfully continue the important work of educating and serving our students without you and your partnership.
Best wishes for a safe and relaxing summer break. We look forward to seeing our students on campus on August 17 for the start of the 2022-23 school year!
Warmest Regards,
Gunn Marie Hansen, Ph.D.
Superintendent of Schools
