TAWANKA TIMES
HARLEM WIZARDS
Tawanka was well represented on The Neshaminy Dream Team. Many Tawanka children and parents came to the game versus the Harlem Wizards to support Mr. Wright, Mr. Blaydon and Mr. Finkel.
FIRST GRADE
1st grade finished their Math Measurement unit by having a Measurement Olympics. Some events included: javeling throw, high jump, frog jump and Olympic flying. Each child competed and then measured their events using the nonstandard measurement tool of popsicle sticks!
SECOND GRADE
They practiced mindfulness using a few different techniques;
Ms. Napolitan taught them mindfulness by noticing how their breathing and heart rate changed with exercise. They thought about their breathing as they blew bubbles, and they also used their senses.
THIRD GRADE
Third graders had hands on fun exploring fossils during our rock assembly. We dug up rocks and minerals to experience life as a paleontologist. Science rocks!
NUTRITION
One of the most notable health benefits of the peas is they are high in vitamin C.
The kids and staff really seemed to enjoy this month's treat!!
As always we thank Giant for their generosity and help in teaching the children the health benefits of the fruits and vegetables they have shared with us this year.
READING FUN
The Township Library of Lower Southampton Librarians read to our kindergarten and first grade students. The students were excited to have them read them!
