As the snow comes down, I am reminded that each flake is unique… just like the students we serve each and every day. My name is Stephanie Myers and I am the BEA President. Thank you for your patience, support, and care in the job you do. The Boise School District and the Boise Education Association are lucky to have you!

National ESP Day is Wednesday, November 19th… congratulations! We, as teachers, know the importance of every paraprofessional, tutor, food service, bus driver, administrative assistant, custodian, and facilities employee. Thank you!

Please consider becoming an active member of the BEA! We have committees, activities, and meetings where your experience and voice can be a vital part of the Association. Stand together, stand up and speak up for public education!

The IEA kicked off another year of their Summer Institute providing workshops, socials and fun for IEA members. This year's event was held at the Boise Center on the Grove. Classes included iPads in the Classroom, Inquiry with the Common Core and Creating community in the Classroom.

ESP Steering Committee members, Mary and Allison Gordon, provided an informational booth at the conference providing materials to members from all over the state about classified staff and how to help them see the benefits of joining their locals. Allison Gordon also provided a workshop on free and fun resources and websites to use in the classroom and was also featured in the Boise Weekly article: Lessons Learned.

We had a great Meet 'n Greet at On the Border on September 23rd. Lots of new and veteran ESP's arrived for fun, food and drinks. We had a couple of raffle winners as well. Robin Zoener from Grace Jordan walked away with a $10 gift card just for inviting fellow staff members and Mara Littrell won a $25 gift card for signing up that day. We hope to see more support staff next year.

National Education Support Professionals day is coming up on Wednesday, November 19th. It was first celebrated in 1987 after the NEA's Representative Assembly created a day to honor school support staff.
