Message from the Principal

Dear Lakewood Elementary Families,

It is the month that we will be busy with a lot of activities. Please be looking on DOJO for parent teacher conference sign-up for your child. The teacher will be sending a link through their DOJO.

PTO Mum pick-up information is below.

Also, October 25 at 2:30pm will be our fall harvest party. Doors will open at 2:20 to allow parents to start going to their child's class. Please be mindful that each child should have no more than two people attend this event for space purposes.

October 25 is also Character Day where students can wear a costume to school preferably related to a book. We do ask that students do NOT bring weapons, or have anything with blood or scary.

Bully Prevention Month

Did you know October is Bully Prevention Month? This coming week we will be

working in the classroom with all of our student on what it is to be MEAN and what

it is to be BULLIED. Our amazing Resource Officers and I will be having classroom

presentations, handing out stickers and discussing the tough questions/concerns

with our students. Please take time this week to talk to your child about what was

learned. Classroom presentations will be on Monday and Wednesday. Thursday,

October 16th I would like to ask our staff and student to wear ORANGE

for Unity Day. Wear and share orange to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and

inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience

bullying.

PTO Information

The PTO is providing dinner from Chipotle to our LES and JIS staff for conferences starting on 10/15/24. We are asking for donations of money or gift cards to Chipotle, bottled water and desserts. We have also added an electronic payment for donations via Cheddar up (QR code below) Donations can be dropped off to the schools. If other arrangements need made for donations - please message us. Thank you for helping us support our staff!

Calling all VOLUNTEERS! Mum delivery day is right around the corner! We need your help sorting the mums & loading vehicles! We have two shifts available. Sign up below

When: October 12, 2024, 07:45 AM - 1 PM (2 shifts during this time frame)

Where: Hebron New Life Church, 925 W Main St, Hebron 43025

What to expect: We will unload the truck, PTO will do final count & then the sorting begins! During parent pick up, we load their vehicle so we can get everyone thru the line.
