We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
“Isn’t there anyone who can tell me what Christmas is all about?” So exclaims a frustrated Charlie Brown. The powerful answer comes from Linus who famously drops his security blanket and recites the beautiful message of the angels to shepherds in the field (Luke 2:8-14). If you want to remember what Christmas is all about, there are few better explanations:
""And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were afraid. But the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I pray that the upcoming break provides you - of course - with ample time to enjoy family, friends, and good cheer, but also time to reflect meaningfully upon the deep and resounding joy of the coming of our Savior.

Middle School Honor Roll - 1st Trimester
Congratulations to our middle school students who have achieved Honor Roll status for the 1st Trimester! Achieving Honor Roll status is the result of months of hard work and diligence both in the classroom and at home. Job well done!
You can find the full list of Honors students attached here. In addition, students were presented with individual certificates during Middle School Activity Period this afternoon.
Annual FJVD Parent Survey
Each year, in November or December, Father Doyle School sends out a parent survey. As noted in our Student Handbook, enrollment in Father Doyle School implies a partnership between the school and families. The strengthening of this partnership requires, among other facets, frequent, open communication and commitment to a common goal - mainly, the growth and flourishing of the whole child. To that end, this annual survey provides families the opportunity to share feedback with the school as we continue to seek ways to improve upon the way we serve our mission of providing a solid, well-rounded Catholic education for each and every student.
You can complete the Winter 2023 Parent Survey by clicking here.
Please know that every survey submitted is carefully reviewed, and past surveys have yielded concrete action including, but not limited to, the creation of the middle school news & media club, implementation of a wide range of new extracurricular activities, changes to our extended day programming, and more.
Please note, the survey can also be accessed from our FJVD App under the "Surveys" tab!
Help Us Start a Chain Reaction of Kindness!
The goal of Unit III of our Friendzy program is to help students "consider the needs of others before their onw." To help meet this goal, we're kicking off a new initiative called the "Put the 'I' in KIND." In the coming weeks, our students and families are asked to write down an act of kindness shown to them or that they have shown to someone else on a paper chain link. These will be collected and combined to make a chain of kindness. In previous years, we created a chain that stretched all the way from the school to the Church parking lot, and this year, we want to go even farther!
Starting December 11th, paper chain links available from Mrs. Marra or you can fill out the form here and our front office staff will fill out a chain link for you. Let’s start a chain reaction of kindness!
