Important Chromebook Reminder
Parents, please remind students to bring their Chromebooks, which are completely charged, to school every day! Chargers should remain at home so they don't get lost or stolen. Plug Chromebooks into chargers at night and let them charge overnight. They should be 100% charged in the morning. Bring the fully charged Chromebook to school (and again, leave chargers at home). Chromebooks should last the entire school day on a single charge. All Chromebooks and chargers must be returned to school at the end of the school year (Tuesday, June 3, for 8th Grade and Wednesday, June 4, for 6-7th Grades).

8th Grade Celebration Day Chaperones Needed
We are looking for adults, parents, and guardians to chaperone the 8th grade Celebration Day to Wabun Picnic Area at Minnehaha Falls on Wednesday, June 4. We will have teachers spread throughout the area to monitor the students and to make sure that they don't walk off to areas they shouldn't be accessing. We will be asking that you supervise areas as well, and we will indicate those locations when we arrive at the park on Wednesday.
We will be leaving Edgewood at 9:45 am after the Talent Show. We will arrive at Wabun Picnic area at approximately 10:10 am. We will have lunch at the park, and then leave at 1:45 pm to return to Edgewood.
Due to the number of students attending and the need to bring school lunches along on the buses, we are asking that you please meet us at Wabun Picnic area (4655 46th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55406) rather than ride the bus with the students. Please let me know if this is an issue.
All chaperones must complete a background check each school year. If you already completed this process for the April field trips, you are good to go. If you have any questions or are interested in chaperoning, please email Gina Fosse (Gina.Fosse@moundsviewschools.org) with your name, your student's name, your email, and the best phone number to reach you. Thank you!
8th Grade ONLY Talent Show Auditions
Attention Eighth Graders! We would love for you to audition for our 8th Grade Celebration Day Talent Show! Auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 27, in Room 121 from 2:30-3:30 pm. After-school activity buses will be available that day to ride home. For more information or questions, please contact Mr. Abbott at will.abbott@moundsviewschools.org.
Locker Cleanout
Locker cleanout will take place on Friday, May 30, at the end of 7th period. Any supplies students do not want to take home with them can be placed in the supply boxes available in the hallways during cleanout.
End-of-Year Medication Reminder
As the school year comes to a close, we want to remind families to make arrangements for getting medications home by the last day of school —this includes daily medications, as needed medications, inhalers, EpiPens, and more.
Medications (except controlled substances) may be sent home in your student’s backpack if you prefer.
Controlled substances must be picked up in person by a parent or guardian if any remain on the last day of school (Thursday, June 5th).
A new Medication Authorization Form is required each school year for any medications given at school.
Any medication not picked up by June 5th will be properly disposed of.
Medications needed during summer school need to go home by the last day of school, and be provided back to whatever site your student will attend for summer school.
Medications can be picked up anytime during school hours. If you have any questions or need to make arrangements, please contact the Health Office at 651-621-6604 or email Kamisha Collier, Health Specialist at kamisha.collier@moundsviewschools.org -or- Nicole June-Dummann, Licensed School Nurse at nicole.june-dummann@moundsviewschools.org.
Thank you for your attention to this important end-of-year task!
