Welcome back students and families! We are looking forward to an outstanding year of learning. I will be sending a family newsletter out at the beginning of each month. This is delivered electronically to parents who have signed up to be notified by email. It is also sent out through Seesaw and posted on our school website.

We have had a change to the start and end time of our day for next year. School will now start at 7:35am and end at 2:05pm. Student Drop off will begin at 7:20am. Please see below for more information.

Welcome back! My name is Amanda Rieckenberg, and I am very excited and honored to be your new Assistant Principal. I cannot wait to meet each and everyone of you and work collaboratively with you to provide a safe and caring environment for all of our students. I would also like to support them in their educational journey. It is going to be an AWESOME school year!

• Sept. 20- Early release from school- 2 hours (staff professional development)

Back to School Connections Conferences: We will be having connections conferences for each student and their parent/guardian. The conferences will be on either August 28th from 12:00-7:30pm or September 3rd from 7:15am-3:00pm. There will be one 20 minute time slot for each student with their teacher, we ask that all students come to meet with their teacher for connections conferences. There will also be time to complete all needed paperwork. A staff member from Discovery will be calling you to let you know the day and time to attend. If you do not get a call by Aug. 26, please call our office at this number 320/370-6180.

School Day Arrival and Dismissal: *** Change for this year***

The Discovery student day begins at 7:35 a.m. and dismisses at 2:05 p.m. Students can arrive at 7:20 a.m.. We are not able to provide supervision before 7:20 a.m. School starts at 7:35 a.m., students need to be in their classrooms by 7:35 a.m. Students being picked up will be picked up outside in front of the building in the car pick-up line. We will bring your student out to your car. Reminder- the front parking lot is now one-way traffic only. See the signs for reminders. Students need to be picked up by 2:15 p.m. each day, if this is a challenge, we do offer Boys and Girls Club free of charge at Discovery.

We are working hard to complete transportation routes for this fall. If you have had an address change, or a pick up or drop off change please be sure to complete the attached form and send to transportation as soon as possible to ensure you are ready for the first day of school.

If you do not need bus transportation in the morning, afternoon or both this year please complete the Opt Out Form and send to transportation form, this helps with routing families correctly.

Families will receive transportation information the week of August 26th.

This year breakfast and lunch will be available free of charge to ALL students. If students bring meals from home, and want a milk, they will still need to pay $.50 for the milk.
