The Renner Review
January 2025
Howdy Renner Roadrunner Families!
Happy New Year and Welcome to the Spring Semester!
Renner Academy has started 2025 with great momentum and exciting changes. As we step into this new year, we bid farewell to our founder, Ms. Kristen Renner, who is moving on to pursue new endeavors. We are immensely grateful for her vision and leadership. At the same time, we are delighted to have Mrs. Kim Pagach serving as Interim Head of School. In addition to our change in leadership, we have a new staff member; we want to welcome Ms. Dana Wagner to our team. You can read more about both below.
January has been a busy month with mid-year parent conferences and our January Dinner with Renner. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and supported these events!
Looking ahead, preparations for the 2025 Renner Academy Gala are underway. If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor, making a donation, or learning more about tables and tickets, please contact our Fundraising Director, Casey Mallet, at Casey@renneracademy.org.

A Message from our Founder
It’s hard to find the right words to express the mix of emotions I feel as I write this letter.
Renner Academy began as a dream—a vision for a place where children with dyslexia
and other learning differences could thrive. What it has become is far more than I ever
imagined.
While this chapter of my journey is coming to a close, my love for Renner Academy and
my belief in its mission remain steadfast. I am endlessly proud of what we’ve built
together—every student’s success, every teacher’s dedication, and every family’s
support have been a testament to the power of community and shared purpose.
Though I am stepping away from my daily responsibilities, I will continue to support
Renner Academy in a consulting and advisory capacity. I know the school is in
incredibly capable hands with our outstanding administrative team—Kim Pagach (Mrs.
P), Sarah Kiniry (Mrs. K), and Jodi Renner (Mrs. Jodi).
Thank you for trusting me with your children, for believing in this mission, and for
walking alongside me on this remarkable journey. Renner Academy will always hold a
special place in my heart, and I am excited to see the continued growth and success
ahead.
With deep gratitude and love,
Kristen Renner
A Message from Our Interim Head of School
I am thrilled to serve as the Interim Head of School for Renner Academy. It is truly an
honor to have the opportunity to serve such a vibrant and dedicated school community.
I am excited to work alongside all of you as we continue to support and uplift the
families who trust us with the education of their children.
At Renner Academy, we provide specialized education that is crucial for the growth and
development of every child who walks through our doors. I am deeply committed to
upholding the high standards we have set and ensuring that our students receive the
quality education and care they deserve. The mission and vision of Renner Academy
are close to my heart, and I look forward to furthering the incredible work already in
progress.
I would also like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible
legacy of Kristen Renner. Her vision and dedication to founding Renner Academy have
made a profound impact on so many lives, and her legacy will undoubtedly continue to
shape the future of our school for years to come. We are all beneficiaries of her
commitment to creating a nurturing and empowering environment for students and their
families.
Together, we will continue to build on this strong foundation, ensuring that every child at
Renner Academy thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. I look forward to
working with each of you and fostering a collaborative, positive environment for our
students, families, and staff.
Thank you for your continued support, and I am excited for the journey ahead.
Warm regards,
Kim Pagach
WELCOME MS. WAGNER
Hello my name is Dana Wagner. I am very excited to be part of the Renner Academy team! I come to RA with a 30-year career in public education that has been built on a foundation of expertise and a commitment to student success. I am a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University, earning a Generalist degree for grades 1-8 with a specialization in history, along with a certification in English as a Second Language.
My teaching journey has been marked by versatility and innovation. Having taught 1st through 5th grades, I have covered all subjects in 1st grade, focused on third-grade math, and served as a math interventionist for grades K-5. I have completed full training through Neuhaus and was mentored by Susan Bohan from Region 6 in teaching math. This training included expertise in abstract, concrete, and pictorial components of math, all of which weaves together to provide a robust and cohesive approach to math instruction.
My approach to teaching goes beyond academics, fostering a supportive environment where every child can thrive. Now, in this exciting phase after retirement, I am thrilled to bring my wealth of knowledge to Renner Academy and eager to continue making a profound impact on students and colleagues alike.
