Principal Message
Hello Waubesa Families,
Wow! It’s hard to believe, but we only have 3 more weeks left to the school year. While there are many special activities, field trips and other exciting events planned, we’re taking advantage of these last weeks to continue to learn and grow. Please help reinforce with your students the importance of maintaining their perseverance and focus as we finish the school year strong.
We ask that you take a moment to view this short 2-minute video regarding some updated protocols for when parents/guardians or family members drop off or pick up students or items during the school day. Thanks for viewing this to help ensure the safety of all of our students, staff, and visitors.
Thank you for your ongoing support this school year. If you have any questions, suggestions, or shout outs, we encourage you to use this form.
McFarland Pride,
Corey Shefchik - Principal
Kelly Vetter - Associate Principal
Spring is Here!
Spring is here at the intermediate school and with heat comes the need to send a reminder about hygiene! At this age, students may need assistance with self-awareness of their body odor. We ask that you please encourage, if necessary: an increase in showers, applying deodorant, and change out socks and shoes. We REALLY APPRECIATE your partnership in the fight against body odor!

Ticks in Wisconsin
Spring is here and ticks are active! There are many diseases that can be spread by ticks in Wisconsin; including Lyme disease and Rocky mountain spotted fever. Most tickborne diseases in Wisconsin are spread by the black-legged tick (also known as the deer tick). To prevent Lyme disease and other illnesses spread by ticks, it’s important to carefully remove attached ticks as soon as possible and get rid of them. As you spend more time outdoors, be sure to check for ticks and remember these tips to help prevent tick bites. See Ticks in Wisconsin: What You Need to Know for more information.
End of Year Information
As we near the end of the school year and much anticipated Summer break, MSD Health Services is asking that you please review the following Health Services End of Year information . If your student currently has medication at school, you will find pick up information in this document. If your student's medication is NOT picked up by the end of the day on the last day of school, Thursday, June 6th, it will be sent to the CEPS Health office for summer school and pick up will need to be coordinated from that school. Please complete and return the Medication Release Form to the health office, also available in the health office and MSD Health Service Website. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you!
