The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. Congratulations to Churchill Elementary School FLES teacher Megan Petramale for becoming a published author. Megan published her book El Armadillo Amarillo earlier this year. At the Board meeting, Mrs. Petramale shared why she was inspired to write the book and also read the book for the Board and community.

Forest Glen Elementary School Improvement Plan/Data Presentation | watch

Forest Glen School Principal Scott Klespitz and Assistant Principal Sarah Taitel shared student MAP data and also staff data from Humanex InsightEX. They also presented the Forest Glen School Improvement Plan and highlighted the key goals and action steps.

Superintendent Dr. Melissa Kaczkowski presented the annual immunization report and shared that it will be posted on the district website. Link to report

ReferralGPS Update | watch

Dr. Kaczkowski introduced mental health consultant Brenda Huber who provided an update on the usage data regarding the district’s mental health supports that are happening outside of the school day as part of the federal grant the district received this school year. In addition, Dr. Kaczkowski introduced ReferralGPS representative Amit Thaker. Mr. Thaker presented information about District 41 launching this online mental health referral support platform and the opportunity to implement a Treatment Fund.

2024-2025 School Year Calendar | watch

Dr. Kaczkowski and Dr. Miko explained the process for developing the school year calendar and the work of the district calendar committee. Board members asked questions about the calendar draft and the changes being proposed for next school year. Click here for the proposed calendar.

Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter presented the annual budget calendar. Click here for the proposed calendar.

General Education Transportation Contract | watch

Mr. DePorter shared information about the transportation bidding process. He explained a proposed two district partnership with Glenbard District 87 that would provide cost sharing.
