NEWSLETTER | TERM 2 | WEEK 3 | 3 May 2024
Good afternoon parents and caregivers,
As Catholics the month of May is known as Mary’s month. It’s the month that we honour the Blessed Mary as the Mother of Jesus and our Heavenly Mother. There are a number of rituals that we do throughout May to show love for Mary. One of these rituals is praying the Rosary, a combination of prayers, during which we can reflect on the important events in the life of Jesus and Mary. Throughout the month of May, I encourage you to take some time to pray the Rosary with your children and reflect on how fortunate we are to be part of such a fantastic community.
I would like to take this opportunity to update the school community on the current Capital Development Plan. Firstly, paperwork is underway for the installation of two demountable classrooms which will assist with our every growing numbers. Due to our bush surroundings, and limited access to the school grounds, the decision has been made to place the demountable classrooms on the oval closest to the carpark. To ensure students still have plenty of play area, I am in contact with the City of Wanneroo to start the process of expanding the oval. Secondly, on Tuesday I delivered a Capital Development Presentation to panel of representatives from Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia and CEWA requesting a build of four new classrooms and upgrades to our existing toilet blocks. As everyone is aware, with the school enrolment expanding rapidly, we have a shortfall of classrooms, and a new building project is an urgent need. As more information is made available, I will inform our school community.
A couple of reminders for the beginning of term. Classroom doors open at 8:15am and school concludes at 2:50pm. Please do not arrive at school any earlier than 8:10am in the morning or 2:40pm in the afternoon, which includes parking in the Kiss and Drive. Thank you to those families that are trying to adhere to these conditions.
Finally, on Wednesday I was overwhelmed by the words of appreciation, handmade cards and posters gifts that was given to me by the all the students. From joining the Kindergarten students for a ‘dance off’ to watching a clip created by another student or laughing at the stories the students told about me, Wednesday was a day of affirmation that I am truly blessed to have these amazing young people in my life! Thank you to the staff and students for making my day a whole lot brighter!!
Have a lovely weekend!
God bless
