Message from the Principal

Greetings Findley Community~

We love being able to meet with families during parent-teacher conferences. We hope you found your time connecting with your child's teachers during Spring Conferences valuable. For us, spring conferences are a dedicated time to celebrate your child's progress—academically, socially, and emotionally. Your insights as a parent are incredibly important. Thank you for your partnership and participation in your child's educational journey. This sends a powerful message to your child: their education matters and they are supported at home and at school. We couldn't do this without you.

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! I invite you to join me in celebrating the incredible educators who work so hard every day to support, inspire, and guide our students.

Our teachers do more than teach—they listen, encourage, and help shape the future. Whether it's creating engaging lessons, offering extra help, or simply being a steady and caring presence, our teachers make a meaningful difference in the lives of our children. Next week offers a special time to show gratitude and appreciation for all they do. I encourage you and your child to take a moment this week to say "thank you"—a kind note, a drawing, or a few heartfelt words can mean the world to a teacher.

Together, let's make sure our teachers feel the love and appreciation they so deeply deserve!

With Gratitude,

Sherry Marsh, Ed.D

BSD Long-Range Facility Planning

BSD is seeking volunteers to serve on an expanded Long-Range Facility Planning Committee. The committee will advise the superintendent on issues such as long-range facilities plans, facility condition assessments and future bond planning. The committee provides consensus recommendations but does not make decisions concerning district facilities and related topics.

The current committee was seated in February 2024. The district is seeking additional members to have a total of two committee members from each board zone. The two members in each zone will be selected from different elementary school attendance boundary areas, when possible. Applicants may not be current district employees, board members, vendors, contractors or consultants for the district.

The district is seeking applicants who demonstrate:

  • Commitment to sustained volunteer engagement.
  • Good reputation in the community for fairness and transparency.
  • Ability to focus on the best interests of the district and community as a whole.

To apply, please complete the online application. You’ll be asked to include your resume. The deadline to apply is Monday, May 5 at 5 p.m.

Applicants will be notified whether they have been appointed to the committee on Tuesday, May 13. The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28. Meetings will typically be held monthly except during the summer.

Updates from Technology-Mrs. Jain

This month in the tech lab, 4th and 5th graders began their 3D printing lessons, getting hands-on experience with basic design and printing concepts.

They also tried coding a rhyme using Ozobot programming, combining creativity with technology in a fun and engaging way.

They also practiced their typing skills to improve speed and accuracy.

Our K–2 students had an exciting time as well! They were introduced to coding through fun, age-appropriate activities and also enjoyed exploring how Ozobots work.

It’s been a month full of creativity, discovery, and tech fun for all grades!

Summer School Update

Currently the district is on a limited and targeted budget as it relates to Summer School. Because of this, we will not be able to offer summer school.

We understand the importance of summer school in supporting our students' academic success and personal growth. If additional funds become available from the state, we are hopeful that we may be able to expand our programming in the future. We will keep you informed of any updates as they arise.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
